I think the majority of the working class’ valuing of each other prioritises the physical, the manual, and the sportive.

Unless one occupies an academic position which brings in a high salary, and can therefore choose one’s social milieu accordingly, intellectual attributes are of little consequence in others’ eyes.

I agree. It was the title of the documentary, though.

It was also pioneered in Europe by Goebbels and Riefenstahl, if that justifies the term?

Now that some sort of agreement has been reached over Greenland, the old yarn is being repeated yet again: Ukraine will join NATO and the EU, and Russia has “lost” in Ukraine.

And Greenland is apparently a lovely big block of ice over which missiles can fly.

Delaware didn’t ratify abolition until the 20th century, although it had no slaves by then.

We still use the phrase “sold down the river”, which originated with slaves in border states (north of the Dixon Line) being threatened to be sold down river – i e. sold south, where conditions were harshest.

NATO expansion must be reversed (Putin) indicates that Russia expects this across Europe!

Meanwhile, the US is removing Russia’s allies: first Venezuela and soon Iran.

Apparently the US has demanded of the interim president to stop trading with Russia, China and Cuba.
