A new Gallup survey showing most Americans would not be willing to vote for a socialist also revealed that an overwhelming majority of Democratic voters said they would back a candidate like Sen. Bernie Sanders, who is leading in national polls.
More than three-quarters of Democratic voters surveyed—76%—told Gallup they would support a presidential candidate who identified as a socialist.
A large chunk of independent voters said they would back such a candidate, with 45% saying so, while only 17% of Republicans reported the same.Overall, 45% of 1,033 respondents said they would back a socialist in the poll, which had a margin of error of four percentage points.

Some interesting observations in the comments also.
With 96% of first-preference votes tallied on Sunday, Sinn Féin had 24.1%, with Fianna Fáil on 22.1%, Fine Gael on 22.1%, Greens on 7.4%, and small leftwing parties and independents comprising the rest. Preliminary vote tallies suggested Sinn Féin could win around 36 seats.
Sinn Féin will try to form a government in Ireland after apparently winning more votes than any other party in Saturday’s general election – a historic result that upended the political system. The party leader, Mary Lou McDonald, told cheering supporters on Sunday that a “revolution” had occurred and she would try to form a ruling coalition with other parties. “This is no longer a two-party system,” she said.
Soon as BDS is raised, pro-Israelis become very vocal but a recent “blockade” of the West Bank is getting little news coverage.

Apparently, rather than use Israeli middle-men in importing cattle, Palestinians tried to import directly and this is Israel’s retaliation.

He must be in bed with those environment pessimists who advocate degrowth but don’t expect a drop in the consumption patterns of consumers in the West and deny any increase in standards of living for the poorer countries to compensate.

As an aside, terminology often confuses me.
At one time it was First World, Third Word, then it became developed, developing and undeveloped countries and now its Global North and Global South.
Which should i use and how are they defined?
After the tragedy of Iran’s air defences shooting down a civilian passenger jet, one would imagine the world would be ensuring similar incidents don’t happen again.
Yet where is the condemnation of the Israeli air force that apparently used the cover of an Iranian jet airliner for an attack on targets in Syria and the Airbus had to take evasive measures to avoid Syrian anti-aircraft fire.
