A common argument against socialism is that people won’t work for each other for free. Firstly, this doesn’t make any sense because workers (partially) work for capitalists for free.

Anyway, I’ve thought of this good little argument for socialism:

You work for everyone for free & everyone works for you for free.

“… workers (partially) work for capitalists for free.”

Yes, but they don’t know it.

I know, but it’s hard to describe: use-value; exchange-value; & surplus-exchange-value to our fellow workers in one conversation.

And one conversation, or, the opening of one conversation, is enough for most to avoid us thereafter.

Hopefully, posts on this topic can help to rectify that.

TM – I love your enthusiasm for socialism, if only it matched your enthusiasm for Armageddon.

Supporters of capitalism say that it’s easier to imagine the end of the world than it is to imagine the end of capitalism; which is crazy because:

    1. Capitalism has only existed for a few hundred years; and

    2. The more advanced technology becomes, the easier it will be to meet everyone’s needs in a socialist society.

Moo – tell that to TM not me. (I was being ironic in my response to the sainted one).

Sometimes Comrade Cheery Arse’s on going pessimistic posts about the end of the world, actually get me to the point of thinking that the end of the world, would be a blessed relief from having to read his endless posts about the end of the world.

I know you know that. I just felt like mentioning what I mentioned.

When describing socialism to reformists, a common response is: ‘That might happen in the distant future, but now we should focus on reforming capitalism’.

There are two points I have to make about that:

    1. We cannot solve the problems caused by capitalism without getting rid of it.

    2. If reformists believe a socialist society will exist a hundred years in the future because we will have the technology to make it possible by then, I have good news for them: We have the technology to make it possible now.

Socialism became less attractive when it became lumped in with environmentalism. Instead of calling for abundance for all it became an ideology wanting to share out the misery. A case in point is fossil fuels. An advanced society needs energy, and plenty of it. The easiest way to generate energy is by burning fossil fuels. The emissions are bad for human health and the environment, but we have the technology and ability to find ways of using these resources more efficiently. Until ‘Socialism’ is associated with abundance for all and a positive view of the future it will continue to be rejected by the people.

Socialism has been distorted by the Bolsheviks, the Leninists, the reformists, and the left-wingers; the world has never known the real meaning and real objectives of socialism. They turned a working theory for world liberation into a theory for nationalists, patriots and dictators over the working class. The only thing that they had done was to create millions of anti-communist/socialist workers, and now, due to their failure, the workers are electing right-wing populists

These fraudsters have been one of the biggest distorters of socialism. Hundreds of their government have been established around the world, and they have been the biggest collaborators of the capitalist class
