    AJJ
I saw that. Unfortunately, it seems a solution (within Capitalism) in knocking out any alleged opposition to Syria’s Bashar al-Assad.
I posted Bashar al-Assad systematical murder of 55,000, 13,000 by hanging according to AI of anyone deemed in opposition to him, on the Syria thread.

A German court has sentenced a former Syrian intelligence officer to four-and-a-half years in jail for complicity in crimes against humanity.

Hours of witness testimony laid bare the mechanics of the Syrian regime’s alleged brutalities. Prosecutors described killing and torture on an “almost industrial scale”

Labour brought in new laws to jail any employer, who paid their workers with above pay norm increases, flouting Labours controls on wages….. to get inflation out of the system.
Blair bought in the working hours opt-out clause, when the EU bought in the Working Time Directive, stopping unscrupulous bosses from exploiting workers with excessive hours!
Who needs enemies with friends like Labour!

Princess Latifa: UK under pressure to act over allegations against Dubai’s ruler

For a long time the UK has seemed prepared to play down the disturbing allegations against its close ally, Dubai’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Manchester City’s owner Sheikh Mansour, who is a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family, who has been accused by Amnesty International of ‘sportswashing’ its Human Rights abuses. Abu Dhabi are to carrying out the sentence that was imposed on a then child, who is now a man, the death penalty. Shouldn’t there be an * when Manchester City win the Premier League?
Now this! Abu Dhabi is nothing more than a family thiefdom

Slightly off topic. Manchester City which is owned by Sheikh Mansour, a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family and deputy president of the United Arab Emirate, accused by the U.N of ‘sportswashing’ its deeply tarnished image.
I bring this up as a number of tweets on the party (@OfficialSPGB) Twitter account page, vociferously accused us of wanting to be a small elite……He’s made a Freudian slip, as you can’t get much smaller than the UAE, run by a family dynasty! But the tweeter obviously is not interested, anything to fit his agenda, having a myopic view of the world.

Today the news of missing family member.

The US will also name a special envoy to Yemen, to put more pressure on the Saudis and Emiratis and the Houthi forces they are fighting, to make a lasting peace agreement.
    ———

It’s the norm that countries are eager to sell their wares and do business deals in death.

Any new impetus by the new US administration, is better than that taken by the previous US administration’s stance on Yemen, and its ‘stance’ on warring factions elsewhere in the region, Syria? Let’s see what happens?

Biden said the conflict in Yemen, which has killed more than 100,000 Yemenis and displaced 8 million, had “created a humanitarian and strategic catastrophe”.

The United Nations says Yemen is the world’s worst humanitarian crisis, with 80% of the population in need of aid or protection.

    ——

Compare this with the plight of Venezuelans*? Compare Venezuelans plight to shell shocked Yemenis or Syrians. It’s not only Venezuelans trawling through landfill. Syrians are trawling landfill looking for something to eat for their family! Source for this Twitter!
We (Socialists) were accused (on Twitter) of wanting to be a small powerful elite…..do away with people’s freedoms and stop people living a decent life? He has no complaints about Arab States, run by family dynasty’s, who exploit migrant workers, who lock up human rights campaigners and its critics. Who deny people the right to vote…..
    * On virtually every party tweet someone brings up Venezuela!

Yemen war: Joe Biden ends support for operations in foreign policy reset

The conflict has left millions (14m Say the U.N, the world’s worst humanitarian crisis in 100 years) of Yemenis on the brink of starvation.

The US is to end its support for offensive operations by its allies in Yemen, which has been devastated by a six-year war in which more than 110,000 people are believed to have died.

They are some nice church’s here too. I know this because 2
Russian agents said to be at the centre of the Salisbury nerve agent attack said they visited the “wonderful” English city
as tourists to see its cathedral, “famous for its 123-metre spire.” You learn something new every day.

The Roman Catholic Church found Galileo guilty of heresy. For his ‘belief’ that the Earth rotated around the Sun. That the Earth was not immovable centre of the universe. The Roman Catholic Church: “We order that by a public edict the book of Dialogues of Galileo Galilei be prohibited.”
If the Roman Catholic Church behaves like this in its past, what about its other “scriptures” today? Scriptures on abortion, contraception, single mothers, Heaven and hell? The devil. What it is that constitutes ’sin.’ I was taught god was everywhere, a bit like CCTV is everywhere. I don’t accept there’s an after life. I don’t accept god moves in mysterious ways. Just as I don’t believe in fairies at the bottom of the garden.
I don’t believe everything in gods work, either. Religion is about getting into the heads of young impressionable minds.
Why not let children grow up, then they can choose whether to be god worshippers or not?
The good news is people are less interested in religion now than ever.

Membership is open to all. Those who want to become a member must pass our entrance test.
Armed forces personnel are rejected, as are people who hold religious beliefs, or reformist ideas.
Nobody has stated anybody holds religious views. I have never attacked anyone who holds religious beliefs. Only putting what I believe is the party case….we oppose war and those who support it claiming to be against killing, as this is deemed as a ‘sin.’
I find religion tedious, similar to what was mentioned above.

My main criticism of religion is that it has held back all of humanity in the spheres of science. We urge fellow workers to get off their knees.

I have never seen, heard a party member attack someone who holds religious views. Let me make this clear.

You are missing the point entirely

I am none the wiser now, than when you started really. With your last remark, not sure it really matters to be honest. If you’re a socialist that’s what counts. My neighbour told me he is into ornithology? At first I was like ffs, then I was worried it was something strange? I was relieved that he likes birds the feather variety. He’s a photographer, and does arty things around birds, he does exhibitions where he sells his work.
I didn’t exactly waste my time entirely, as I have been on Twitter, liking the party tweets and making a few tweets in reply.

    I knew you’d say that.

Let’s take thou shalt not kill. One of the 10 Commandments. This doesn’t stop the church from blessing warships, war planes, nuclear submarines or bombs. When fellow workers around the world are blown to bits by British bombs, at least god blessed them. When the Nazis bombed England no doubt their bombs were also blessed by god, so that’s alright then.
Thou shall not steal. Unless you’re a capitalist who fills up thy churches coffers.
A justification for people staving to death in excruciating agony, is that it’s the work of god.
Someone who has cancer, who is suffering in unimaginable pain, that is also the work of god.
But god is all seeing and healing?

Thomas More: we can love church music.

Not in a church. But some Gospel, dance music that is.
