But i think the blog could have done a bit more to commend and congratulate the protestors who have indeed partially recognised the source of atrocity, cost-cutting, but who are still not directing their anger at the system which permits it. But instead, urged on by the Left, they are blaming the Tory council and the Tory government, giving past Labour governments and Labour controlled councils a free pass on their budget-focussed building procedures. I can't express my own indignation when on news reports and press photographs i saw the iniquitous Socialist Worker placards. People have not fully joined up the dots for a more accurate picture. When the pain and suffering has eased, we need to criticise those who are being seen as the "friends" and "sympathisers" of Grenfell and highlight some home-truths and point our fingers at all parties Doing so now, i feel would not be receptively welcomed.

An official complaint should be made to Royal Mail with the proof of this negligence on the part of RM and compensation demanded with threat that if we are not given satisfaction, then we will not only take the complaint further up the RM management chain but will also raise the situation with Electoral Commission and with Ofcom.I know Delivery Office management styles, they are petty dictators in their fiefdoms but once they feel threatened by higher authorities, they buckle and that is why it is necessary to use the full force of our Party, writing protests in the name of the General Secratary but also another from the Election agent and candidate. It happened previously in 2015, i recall. In future, it is worth a call at the delivery office a few days in advance of polling day to check that they are in the process of being delivered.
The Tories got 13 seats in Scotland and even if all the attention is on the DUP, the Scottish Tories have their own agenda they seek to be met. They are for a soft Brexit much in line with SNP and Scotish Labour. Their leader Ruth Davidson has also warned May to defend LGBT issues against the puritanical DUP, since she herself is planning a to have same-sex wedding soon.

As i said in a previous post, this time around, i definitely got the feel that we didn't get receive as much publicity and attention as we got in 2015.Perhaps it was a reflection on the fact that we had 10 candidates and most were outside of the metropolis where the local media are more involved. And yes we can be more choosy and picky on the constituencies. I saw Green Party Derek Wall up against Theresa May got less than a thousand votes, not a very rewarding return for him or his Party. Perhaps as i suggested in another early post, that we engage with voters more at a "parish council" level, less official costs to stand so we can devote more money our publicity with local press ads and participation in grass-root "media events".
At least it seems with the loss of more than a score of seats, the SNP and Sturgeon will not be pushing too much for a repeat Independence referendum.Many will be sighing with relief that at least will be a respite that won't be an additional vote.
