Just had a peep at the SWP youtube fillum of this march. Has anyone else noticed, as I have, that apart from the faces put up for interview, there are very few black and asian people on these marches? Used to be the same at the Anti-Nazis League demos in the '70s. I used to think then 'if they can't be bothered, why should we?'  And it's all right for AJ sat out there in Paraguay or wherever it is he pretends to be ( a mildewed Maryhill maisonette if truth be told). It's minus 7 over here mate.

Pro-choice campaigners said lives were being put at risk by “antiquated, offensive laws” in Northern Ireland.

How is the life of a pregnant woman at risk because the pregnancy is due to rape or incest? These 'antiquated, offensive laws' save lives. The lives of the yet to be born.

Quite early this morning I attempted to use force to persuade Mr Carlton from next door not to go into work. He is a scaffolder. Who knew the NHS provided internet access in their A&E departments?

The Socialist Studies renegades, who can be found at http://www.socialiststudies.org.uk spread it around that Lawrence held to a 'collapse' theory of capitalism. I'm not sure which one. There doesn't appear to be anything in these posted articles, but I haven't read them, so how would I know?

Well I've missed the February 2 deadline, and on July 24 I shall be in Rhyl for the week.

Although never a communist or a sophist my old dad was a life -long Labour supporter and he was killed by fags. A Benson and Hedges lorry run over him. Then reversed just for good measure.

Another person I talked with asked me about travelling. "Should everyone be able to go on a plane to another continent whenever they want? Think about the pollution!" My thoughts were that perhaps people should have a limited amount of air tickets per year. Which people don't have now, but then again they're often limited by their economic situation as air tickets cost money under Capitalism.

Not only that, everyone will be free to have a go at driving the 'plane! If any traveller objects it would be put to a vote, as democracy will be everything in socialism. The passengers in the minority will just have to lump it. Or take a parachute.

Not the first time this allegation has been made. Those who say it must have evidence but have yet to reveal it. Eleanor Marx's translation of George Plekhanov's assault on anarchist philosophy and practice 'Anarchism and Socialism'  was valued by the original members, but Kropotkin..?

Well, my contribution to this discussion is going to seem both hackneyed and cliched and I beg everyone's pardon but here goes. I think that scots and sassenachs, jews and jamaicans, indians and irish, africans and albanians, poles and pakistanis (and not forgetting the chinese) should all unite together! – and get the welsh.

Debates are more interesting if they are hostile -as the Hostility Clause demands they should be. The Socialist Party is more into 'engaging' these days. 'Reaching out' and all that palaver. Not that it has done them any good. Every anarchist I have come across has despised the Socialist Party. It annoys them because it doesn't fit into to their view that Marxian Socialism is inherently authoritarian. No one put it better than Stalin: 'Some people believe that Marxism and Anarchism are based on the same principles and that the disagreements between them concern only tactics…This is a great mistake. We believe that Anarchists are real enemies of Marxism. Accordingly we also hold that a real struggle must be waged against real enemies.'The founders of the Socialist Party would have endorsed this.

Barltrop recounts that at one time Party members paid little attention to current events. As long as you knew your theory of value and had a handle on the MCH you were in a position to analyze anything. And they were right. This stuff in the media is ephemeral, purely ephemeral. These ghastly situations and the  horrible actors who play a role in them come and go. I last purchased a newspaper in 1984. It was an Observer.
