KeymasterMarxists and progressive thinkers from Dr. R. Wolff to Chomsky have classified the USA as fascist, or to put it more accurately, neofascist.
AMY GOODMAN: And do you see the — Donald Trump’s attack on the press as part of that trend toward fascism, his calling the press the enemy of the people?
NOAM CHOMSKY: It’s dangerous, but Nixon did the same thing. You remember the — Agnew and so on. Yes, it’s dangerous, but I think it’s well short of what we regard as fascism.
“There’s no doubt that the Trump malignancy runs deep, and that he is drawn to fascist symptoms. But fascism is something more than symptoms. It’s set of doctrines, which call for the whole society including crucially the business world, to be controlled by the maximal leader and his party. The US is almost the opposite of that… i think we should be cautious in using term fascist. He’s more like the tinpot dictator of some small neocolony.” – Chomsky
Richard Woolf’s definition is much more economic than political.
“The fascist solution to capitalism’s breakdown is to bring in the government to support private capitalist enterprises.”
“a merger of the state and private big capitalists. The former enforced the conditions of profitability for the latter. In turn, the capitalists accommodated the running of their enterprises to finance, produce, price, and invest in ways supportive of the fascist state’s policies…But the tendency of capitalism is toward instability (its cycles), inequality (its upward redistribution of wealth), and fascism (state-capitalist merger)”
According to this definition it equates to FDR who Chomsky described as fascist-friendly
I still require enlightened, LT. Why do YOU believe Trump and his Republican and right-wing supporters are fascist

KeymasterBtw, if you don’t think that the USA is fascist, you haven’t a clue what fascism means.
Enlighten me, please, on why the USA is fascist.

KeymasterHunter privately messaged Steven Carrillo, another “Boogaloo
Boi” in California, urging him to “go for police buildings”, according to the federal criminal complaint.“I did better, lol,” Carrillo replied.
Carrillo had driven to Oakland with an accomplice, and, as protesters were demonstrating blocks away, shot two officers guarding a federal courthouse in downtown Oakland, killing one, David Patrick Underwood.

KeymasterUniversities must act to eradicate discrimination against working-class students, including the mockery of regional accents,
This reflects the experience of Fiona Hill who was a witness in the Trump impeachment.
“I can say with confidence that this country has offered for me opportunities I never would have had in England. I grew up poor with a very distinctive working-class accent. In England in the 1980s and 1990s, this would have impeded my professional development.

Labor Prepares for Last-Minute General Strike If Trump Tries to Steal Election
an AFL-CIO regional body of labor groups representing more than 150 unions in the Seattle, Washington, area, passed a resolution Wednesday that calls for a general strike if President Donald Trump does not respect the outcome of the November 3 election.
In Detroit, Michigan, union activists with the American Postal Workers Union created a flyer with a pledge to take to the streets and shut the country down if necessary to prevent a coup.
the Western Massachusetts Area Labor Federation also approved a resolution calling for a general strike and pledging to take nonviolent action to defend the democratic process “if Donald Trump and his GOP enablers attempt to obstruct, subvert, sabotage, overturn or reject a fair and complete count of presidential ballots.”

KeymasterI’m well aware of the mistake of relying on early voting to determine the outcome of the election. It is known that on-the-day voting will involve more Republicans and that early results will favour Trump who is expected to use those unofficial results to declare a victory.
We try to accurate in the terms we use and to call any attempt by Trump to capture the presidency illegitimately a “fascist coup” is giving the word a very loose meaning.
And just what actions can be recommended?
I recall Daniel De Leon’s strategy of the sword and shield. The shield being industrial action and the general strike to protect the vote. Arms folded was another name for a general strike – non-violent civil disobedience.
Certainly you do not recommend an uprising against Trump. We know who have the guns, the militias and the sympathies of the local law enforcement.
Will there be a legal tussle? Probably, if the vote is close. Gore went to court and reluctantly accepted Bush, preferring to blame defeat on the Green Party and Ralph Nader than question the constitution.
Having said the above, i believe it will all be an anti-climax with an undisputable win for Biden.
And the real question you should be actually asking is what sort of action will the left progressive liberal take against lesser-evil Biden as he reneges on policy after policy in alliance with Republicans like Mitt Romney and the Lincoln Project Never-Trumpers.

- More than 50 million Americans have already cast their ballots, putting the country on track for the highest turnout of any election since 1908.

No awareness means no pressure and accountability so the outcome is no surprise. They just don’t care.”

KeymasterThe “Geneva Consensus Declaration” is a group of about 30 largely illiberal or authoritarian governments which calls on states to promote women’s rights and health – but without access to abortion. The signatories, “Reaffirm that there is no international right to abortion, nor any international obligation on the part of states to finance or facilitate abortion”.
Most of the signatories are among the 20 worst countries to be a woman.
