“The Biden administration and President Biden have definitely exceeded expectations that progressives had. I think a lot of us expected a much more conservative administration.” – AOC

Biden had been “very impressive” in his approach to negotiating with Congress, resulting in the passage of “progressive legislation”.

“It’s been good so far,” she said.

Why am i not at all surprised?

Since the very beginning of her appointment, we said that she was going to jump into the wagon of the capitalist class. That is what our Trotskyist in the forum would call Pepsi Cola socialists and we are the Champagne socialists because we do not support any leader

    Biden’s new “American Families Plan”

It proposes $225 billion in funding to help parents pay for child care, free, universal preschool for three- and four-year olds and boost the pay of child care workers . Families would pay no more than 7% of their income on child care for children under 5, saving the average family $14,800 per year on child care expenses, $45 billion to provide free meals to millions more low-income children.

$109 billion for free community college regardless of income for two years,

It is to funded by raising the top marginal tax rate to 39.6 percent for the wealthiest Americans. It nearly doubles the tax on investment income – known as capital gains – for Americans who earn more than $1 million. The proposed infrastructure plan is funded by corporate tax.

No doubt this will please the progressives and the wealth re-distributionist supporters of Biden.

How much will get through the Republican opposition, we will see,

Biden’s America’s job plan…a lot of promises and aspirations such as to find cure for cancer.

But an old message – Buy American

That nationalist slogan exists since 1933 and it started during the presidency of Hoover. The same thing as Make America Great Again used by Alexander Wiley in 1940, Barry Goldwater in 1964, Ronald Regan in 1980, Bill Clinton in 1992, Donald Trump in 2016. The same old bourgeoise crap

    Biden’s tax rises ineffectual

    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/biden-capital-gains-tax-wealthy/

Wealthy Americans will avoid paying 90% of the estimated $1 trillion increase in investment taxes that President Joe Biden is proposing this week, according to new study from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Business School.

“We don’t think that the proposal has a lot of teeth,” said John Ricco, director of policy analysis at the Penn Wharton Budget Model, a non-partisan fiscal policy research group at the business school.

Wharton’s researchers, however, believe that once an increase in the capital gains rate is passed, wealthy Americans would simply avoid selling stocks and other investments. The wealthy could also minimize their taxes by paring gains in years when they have losses elsewhere in their portfolio, effectively lowering their taxable net gains for the year. Another strategy could be to sell off investments slowly over time to minimize the amount of tax owed in any one year.

“Capital gains is a discretionary tax,” Ricco said. “It is not like taxes you pay on income. You get to decide when you sell your investments, and therefore when you pay taxes or not.”

Penn Wharton researchers concluded that wealthy Americans would end up paying only an additional $113 billion in taxes over the next decade. Penn Wharton concluded that Elizabeth Warren’s proposed wealth tax, which the richest Americans would pay every year on all of their assets no matter whether they sold their investments or not, would generate $3 trillion in new tax revenue over the next decade.

I have to confess my ignorance.

I never once heard of Joe Manchin, the Democratic senator for West Virginia, before Biden’s election and who now with his one vote is thwarting the will of the President and rest of the Democratic Party.

He is hardly out of the news these days

He is just playing the game for his future re-election by having support from Republican voters he also supported trump on several issues.
Most USA politicians just work for their continuous reelection.

In other countries, the idea is a new president a new cabinet but some of these politicians spent 40 and 50 years in the same post making money

The USA Senate is just a cave of reactionaries and right-wingers who will stop anything that will benefit the majority of the peoples to please their rich financiers.

DC statehood will allow black voters to participate in the electoral process and the Republicans are trying to suppress the votes of the minorities in all different states because they want to win the next election, and then they talk about democracy and people’s powers.

The 15 dollars federal minimum wage will benefit many members of the minority groups who are employed by federal contractors, Manchin is just an agent of the rich financiers, and the right-winger democrats and right-winger republicans

    https://www.cnn.com/2021/03/20/politics/what-is-a-filibuster/index.html

Fillibuster is just another vestige of the slavery and racist system as it is the second amendment ( only white peoples were allowed to arm themselves ) and the electoral college. For decades the USA Senate has tried to limit the votes and the rights of the ethnic minorities, and Joe Manchin is also opposing the elimination of this Senate rule. There always has been a backward reactionary who have opposed any rules which will benefit the blacks peoples or other minorities group. Nothing new

https://thehill.com/hilltv/rising/546498-repairers-of-the-breach-president-the-filibuster-has-always-been-used-to-block. Fillibuster rules ( which is not constitutional ) has always being used to block any progressive agenda which might benefit the black peoples, it is just another racist and reactionary rule implemented during 1800, it is part of the long history of the USA slavery legacy.

Originally the Democratic Party was the political institution of the slaveholder, the slaves’ merchants and the KKK, and then they started to wear a new mask, and now they are presenting themselves as the party of all peoples

When the left and the right unite.

We have the Democratic Party progressives describing Biden as moving more towards socialism.

We have the Republican right-wingers describing Biden as moving more towards socialism

That is the reason why there are so many confused workers. Most of those peoples have not read one preface of the Communist Manifesto, and they are experts in socialism/communism. The USA left is like any other right-wing tendency, and socialists/communists in the USA are chicken teeth
