Can't wait to see the finished product. If it proves a success, we should build on it for future videos.

In the Town where I live, there were 3 collieries. Vane Tempest, The Knack and Dawdon. A few years ago, there was a declaration that pumping of minewater would be discontinued, this I believe was overturned. If minewater was allowed to rise unchecked, then the heavy metals and toxins contained therein would eventually get into the water table and, because Dawdon was a coastal pit, into the sea itself. It is a legacy nonetheless, regardless of the pits being closed, that our children and grandchilren and generations after that, will be left to manage. Hopefully we will have a sane society, Socialism, that will make the managemant of environmental problems, based not on monetary considerations but on what is in the interests of mankind!

I am much of a similar opinion, with regards to attitudes on Trade Unionism. Trade Unionism is a term that nowadays, attracts exactly the same illogical abuse, as the terms Socialism/Communism have done for years. Trawling through the comment sections of local newspaper letters pages, I have felt sickened by the abuse and ignorance shown by "workers" on this issue. They appear not to realise, that Trade Union organisation exists, within Capitalism, as a defence against the actions of Capitalists. They seem to have fallen for the tactic of divide and conquer, that is becoming more and more prevalent, as our "betters" use this as a shield to divert attention away from the real problem, the Capitalist system itself!

It certainly was a depressing turnout over the two days or so of the Branch meeting, Myself, Eileen, Joe and Vin as a guest, is not the turnout I had hoped for. The only thing to hold out hope, is that it is early days for the Branch, so you never know!Anyway, onwards and upwards!

A loss for Trade Union activism. A pity more union leaders, indeed rank and file members, were not as forcefull and energetic in putting their case on the "battlefield" that Capitalist industrial relations most assuredly is.Watching the BBC news channel, I see they are already on about maybe there will be a less confrontatory leader! I also note two-faced Boris has issued his condolences but in private, I bet he is laughing his fat tits off.RIP

Yup, one can rely on the state-capitalist, little Englander mentality of these buffoons to balls up the real meaning and intent of Socialism/Communism. Or are they little Englanders, or just appealling to everyones various bigotries to get votes? Everything to everybody.  How can so called internationalist parties be anti immigration? These immigrants are our fellow workers, nothing more, nothing less. Not pawns to be used on an electoral chess board! Our working class brethren must lead really sheltered lives, if they can misconstrue our message, with that of the Stalinists, Leninists and Trots et al.

You could also add, that Cambo and the coalitiion promised a sporting legacy, post Olympics! Well we certanly have that, what with the selling off of school playing fields and in Seaham in particular, a "new Secondary school, but with no swimming pool to replace the old one when Northlea school is bulldozed!Well, at least we'll still have the "playing fields of Eton" to rely upon and our "betters" will be fit, if there is a re run of WW1. Only problems is, they will be miles ahead of the plebs, when the battle is joined!

A sympathiser tried to join the NE website today but was told it was a "members only site". He could not even view the conversations. I assured him it was in the process of being "fixed", so I would appreciate anything that could be done ASAP. It would be a shame if this problem put off prospective members. I know that is unlikely but you never know! Thanks in expectation,Steve Colborn.

We put up candidates, as a way of getting the Socialist message out. It is also useful as a focal point for activity. Moreover, it is a useful indicator of how successful previous propaganda in a specific area has been, in getting the Socialist message out.
