Just listening to those two lefties completely depressed me. One of them jokingly refered to himself as a "Trot" and he even said "if you want Capitalism to work…" which encapsulates the SPGB ctritique of the "Left" because in reality humane capitalism is all they want. They just don't have the intelligence to see beyond the wages system. Hearing the main speaker rhapsodise about the glorious "victories" in the "struggle" makes me want to vomit. The WSM argument just goes completely over their heads yet they talk to us as if the SPGB is just another fragment of the broad church of leftism! After almost 120 years of effort on the part of the SPGB we are still hearing the same shit from the "Left". Their hero worship of Corbyn sickness me. Plus the same old patronising bollocks of theirs that whilst the SPGB apparently just sits on it's arse "talking" the real class warriors are out there on the barricades in the eternal war "doing something in the meantime". Fuck them all.I was also disappointed with the response of Bill Martin who just seemed to almost commiserate with them. It's a far cry from years ago when reformists like this would have been utterly demolished in a debate. Now all there is are a handful of people gassing at the back of a pub. Maybe Bill Martin just thought what's the point in even trying to engage these blowhards in debate. The guy obviously has a brilliant mind but his language would be an instant turn off to your average worker. What is so dishearteningis if these are the views of the most "enlightened" members of the working class (insofar as they have an inkling of class consciousness being trades union organisers) then what are average workers thinking? Almost fuck all by the looks of it. With their smartphones they are becoming ever more dumbed down. With a vast libaray of knowledge at their fingertips they know even less. We don't have a snowballs chance in hell of seeing Socilaism. This is the element which strikes me.

Clearly the "forum" is contributing to the ongoing death of the SPGB. In fact if anything the forum is  hastening the demise…

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/belief/2014/oct/10/islamic-state-dabiq-important-not-end-of-the-worldThis prophecy stuff is scary because millions of Mohammedans believe in this shit. I wonder what Ben Carson would think of the Muslim end of days scenario. The cunt would probably revel in it seeing as he's a member of a church that wants to hasten global nuclear apocalypse.http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/nov/06/seventh-day-adventists-put-faith-over-science-and-reason-ben-carson Add this into the mix of what's going on in the Middle East right now and it looks like we're heading for WWIII. Thank fuck we've got the Royal Variety Performance on ITV tonight as well as "The Dad's Army Story" to look forward to on BBC 2 with all the other Christmas goodies in store!I've noticed a major ratcheting up of jingoism and lots of shit about war and glory on the telly in the past 5 years to the extent that something as previously benign as The Antiques Roadshow is now a subtly nationalistic bandwagon. I hardly have the telly on now.  Honestly what hope do we have after over 110 years of miserable failure in trying to convince your average worker of the need for Socialism? Never mind all the murderers in the army and the fascists in the police WHO ARE THE LYNCHPIN OF THE WHOLE FUCKIN THING! And all the armies and police forces of the world are going to join the class war on our side? LIKE FUCK THEY WILL! Oh I hope I'm wrong wrong wrong but I just can't see it ever happening guys. It's a beautiful dream that's all Socialism is ever going to be. We can't even imagine what our masters have got in store for us. And it's not only the cretins in the police or the army. They have swathes of workers engaged in all sorts of hideous dirty machinations that we can't even imagine. All the horrible dirty tricks on a global scale throughout history only underlines what our miserable species is all about. Greedy, murdering, violent, thieving, lying, hating, manipulating, using bastards. Why even give it a label by calling it "Capitalism"? ITS US!!! WE ARE THE FUCKING PROBLEM IN THE FIRST PLACE! It's us. "Humanity"…

Two letters from the poet Michael Rosen in his attempts to have the text disseminated online…22/07/2006You report the finding of a lost poem by Shelley (Review, July 14) and it seems as if the poem is explosive stuff, supporting the Irish in their attempts to get rid of British rule, while mentioning on the way the injustice of the British presence in India. People from many constituencies are interested – poets, poetry lovers, students of romanticism, students of leftwing and anti-colonial movements and many more besides. So why is it that we are not yet allowed to read the poem? When and where was it rediscovered? Who are the privileged people who so far have been permitted to read it? Why don't they spend the half-hour it would take to scan it and put it up on the web for all of us to read and enjoy? Presumably money is involved. The "owner" of the poem (past or future) will no doubt find a way of selling it, while the ghost of Shelley howls with contemptuous laughter.Michael RosenLondon11/07/2013John Mullan's commentary on The Masque of Anarchy was a welcome read and it's great that the poem itself is available online. If only this were the case for Shelley's Poetical Essay on the Existing State of Things, published in 1811. Having slipped out of sight for nearly 200 years, the poem was "discovered" in 2006, put up for sale and is now "in private hands". The effect of this bit of business is that the poem is not generally available, as making it so would lower the value of this unique copy. This reminds me that though we talk blithely about the "republic of letters" and the "free circulation of ideas", when it comes to the rules of property, we interested readers can go hang. Perhaps Amnesty could take on the injustice of the continuing imprisonment of Shelley's poem.Michael RosenLondon

“Keir Hardie was a great opponent of the First World War and apparently next year the government is proposing to spend shedloads of money commemorating the First World War. I'm not sure what there is to commemorate about the First World War other than the mass slaughter of millions of young men and women, mainly men, on the Western Front and all the other places.“And it was a war of the declining empires and anyone who's read or even dipped into Hobson's great work of the early part of the 20th century, written post World War, presaged the whole First World War as a war between monopolies fighting between [inaudible] markets.“The reason I say this is next year the government are planning this celebration and I think that's an opportunity for us. It's an opportunity to discuss war and discuss peace and to put up an alternative point of view.”  Jeremy Corbyn  Did the SPGB ever debate with this guy. Surely if it came down to it he would be for the Revolution. Or am I talking shite? Problem with some lefties is they're so near…yet so far?

Well I take it back. From what I've read clearly the most heinous disgrace to humanity isn't Islam. It's "humanity".

I see what you're trying to do smart arse. I hate all of these cunts no matter which "faith" they adhere to. But I especially hate the most heinous disgrace to humanity…Islam. The word itself means "submission" and it causes these crazy mad fucks to throw acid in their own children's faces, to cut out the clitori of their daughters without so much as an aspirin to ease the pain, to blow themselves up to fuck in the hope they'll shag all the virgins they can get their hands on in paradise, to play "Bacha Bazi" with wee boys, to force their own kids into abusive marriages for dowry points, to truss their women up in horrible Darth Vader costumes whilst raping and battering fuck of them. Muslims are bastards as well as Orangemen and the KKK, the dirty whoremaisters and kiddy fiddlers in the Vatican and the mad Jew Nazi's who are running Israel. I HATE ALL OF THESE CUNTS! CAPISCE?

Imagine trying to explain the case for Socialism to these bastards. 1.5 Billion Muslims in the World with their heads stuck in the Middle Ages. What a fuckin mess.
