ParticipantVery good article in the I newspaper here. Tells it like it is.

ParticipantI just don’t get why some people are prepared to cast far and wide for arguments to somehow justify or at least play down the Hamas attack of 7 October, which has also proved disastrous for Palestinian workers.

ParticipantBit of a damp squib in Swansea too. About 150 anti-racists, who we were able to leaflet, followed later by less than half that number of far rightists. But kept well separated by movable railings and a significant police presence. Passed off with a few speeches and a bit of music. One of the far-rightists was displaying a large picture of Donald Trump. I mentioned that to a friend, a non-Party member, whose response was ‘that says everything’. I couldn’t not agree.

ParticipantI sort of don’t think what’s happening in Russia will happen in the UK. Russia has that ‘default to autocracy’ which makes it much easier for it to happen and to be enforced there.

ParticipantI submit to this analysis.

Participant‘Trump seems to realise this.’ Do you really think that Trump realises anything?

ParticipantI thought we were talking about this particual situation. But if we want to widen it, but hasn’t Russia also done quite a bit of invading and bombing ‘in recent decades’?

ParticipantRussia invaded Ukraine, and Britain is the biggest warmonger. Something a bit wrong with that.

ParticipantOh no. Not the 9/11 conspiracy again.

ParticipantIf there’s any realism at all in Putin’s mind, he must know that, if he can’t even walk over little Ukraaine (it’s over 2 years now), what chance would he have against NATO.

ParticipantA lot of sense in much of what Lazare has to say.

ParticipantI’d forgotten this. Very good.

ParticipantEnjoyed that.

ParticipantWatergate is unlikely to happen in a gangster capitalist regime like Maduro’s Venezuela.

ParticipantThe Orinoco Tribune is a pro-government publication which never says anything negative about the Maduro regime. It beats me therefore how it can be quoted as though it were 100% reliable (or even, from the its record, even faintly reliable).
