KeymasterDemocratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, was forced to resign after Wikileaks proved top DNC staff plotted to sabotage Sanders’ presidential hopes. But now Hillary Clinton has issued a statement extolling Wasserman Schultz’s tenure and announcing that she would become honorary campaign chair of her presidential campaign. “There’s simply no one better at taking the fight to the Republicans than Debbie—which is why I am glad that she has agreed to serve as honorary chair of my campaign’s 50-state program to gain ground and elect Democrats in every part of the country, and will continue to serve as a surrogate for my campaign nationally, in Florida, and in other key states,” Clinton said. And, of course, to distract from the truth, the Clinton campaign is blaming the Russians for revealing the e-mails…(i suppose some convention delegates will now be spotted with snow on their shoes and it won't be from climate change!!)

KeymasterI'm curious to what political role the new "First Lady", Bill Clinton, shall have under a Hilarity presidency? What degree of political power will he be given? At the moment it is speculation but i suspect he will have much more influence than someone such as the Vice-President.The person who perhaps can be blamed the most for the 2007 Great Recession due to his dergultion of th finncial sector is tipped to become the economic tsar according to the New York Times.http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/17/us/politics/bill-hillary-clinton-administration-economy.html?_r=0

KeymasterI think as you indicate, mcolome, this thread can now be justifiably re-titled "We no longer need to talk about Bernie" and concentrate upon the now more relevant Hillary Clinton 2016 topic.

KeymasterMore on that Damnocrat VPhttps://www.thenation.com/article/tim-kaine-has-a-troubling-record-on-labor-issues/Kaine has a long history of defending his state’s right-to-work law. A decade ago, when he was governor, Kaine referred to Virginia’s right-to-work measure as “a law I strongly support.”PolitiFact Virginia concluded: “he supported Virginia’s right-to-work laws during his gubernatorial campaign and his four years in office. Even the group that seeks to expand these laws [the National Right to Work Foundation] concedes Kaine did few things that troubled them.”

KeymasterIf the arguement of Sanders supporters that he pushed Hilarity to the left then it certainly hasn't been shown in her choice of Vice President.Kaine is on the right of the Democratic party and a Wall St clone, supporting new de-regulation of the banks and supporting the TPP and TTIP trade deals.

Keymaster"He already changed the switch from Bernie Sanders to Hillary Clinton"That was totally expected and will not surprise anybody. He is a lesser evil voter and Clinton for Chomsky is the lesser evil to the alternative Trump. He himself may very well vote Jill Stein of the Green Party as he is in a safe Democratic state but for those in the swing states, Chomsky will advocate that they give a Hilarity Clinton their vote.

KeymasterTsk Tsk, letting one's personal taste in humour overtake the discussion thread…shame on your rodmanlewis…we all have different senses of humour…Some indeed may find Brand's stand-up humour amusingBut many years in the past, i forego his Edinburgh Fringe debut … comedy because of the commercial links with the booze industry and their subsequent monopoly of all the best venues and show-times comedy has diminished much of the quality and breadth of the Fringe.

KeymasterNot sure if it is possible regards the availability of volunteers, but following the example of Gnome's own branch, a few street stalls in a well-trod pedestrian way and collecting contact details to invite to a future public meeting may be the best course to ensure a satisfactory audience number…nothing more demoralising than an empty room. I think you have acquired plenty of literature, some uniquely published, for a well-stocked table and i believe the weather is rather pleasant at the moment.

KeymasterQuote:Does it mean relying on facts like 'there is enough food to feed everyone' or 'enough homes to house everyone' might not be a persuasive argument for socialism for many people? These facts are not to convince people of the case for socialism but to counter certain claims that are prevalent under capitalism such as over-population and lack of resources and should be used when appropriate.

KeymasterLive streaming service: This would typically involve having a studio (mixing desk, CD, mic, computer system, headphones), connected to an Internet Streaming Server. The Streaming Server converts the output of your studio into an Internet stream that’s then made available over the Internet. If this is the option for you, take a look at www.shoutcast.com for information on the software needed, and how to get your station streaming online. There’s also icecast, free streaming software for the more technically-minded. You will also need a streaming radio server – you can host this yourself, or use a third party streaming radio server.Part-live or Pre-recorded: Rather than running a 24 a day live service, you could run a part-live, or fully recorded radio station streamed over the Internet. Here are Radio and Telly, we run a 24 hour station using Shoutcast and a streaming server provided by Wavestreaming. The station is automated using clips from recent editions of our podcast scheduled using a podcast and streamed to listeners around the world. You can listen to us here: FrequencyCast Streaming StationPodcasting: Record a series of radio shows and distribute them as podcasts. Listeners around the world can download shows automatically and listen to them at a time of their choosing. Growing in popularity, and a great way to get your voice out there. Check out our podcast, FrequencyCast. For details of how to make your own podcast, see the Podcast Advice.i c and p the above from here for aanyone wishing to explore the possibilities for our own party. http://www.radioandtelly.co.uk/startaradiostation.html

KeymasterZeitgeist is still producing their videoes, satisfactory enough to recommend as introductions to socialism although with many caveats. such as thishttps://youtu.be/_EkMjTnWk14A spin-off produced this https://youtu.be/uaXhRlpusXEFree World Charter also existshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdGIyQ4LtNsWe all arrived at the idea of socialism and the SPGB via different journeys and on the way acquired different baggage we carry with us. Around the world others too have reached similar conclusions as we have in what sort of society is necessary for the betterment and the continuance of humanity. Some we will disagree with on the means to achieve it but we cannot de-legitimise them all if they stand for a revolution based on the will of the majority.Zeitgeist – we have already done this – by a party-poll including it within our hostility clause. A mistake in my opinion. We have now a group in Turkey, one i am not familiar with, nor many others, that seeks affiliation to the WSM. We demand that they accept our D. of P., which is unique to our roots and history alone.I wonder if they do not adopt the D of P it means that they place themselves outside the bounds of socialism. Maybe they have their own way of expressing socialist ideas …a "Where We Stand" statement which may very well be as valid as our own D. of P. in describing capitalism and socialism and what sort of political action is required for working class emancipation. I await with interest the outcome of their enquiry and if indeed they do share our ideas. I am for a much more inclusionary approach rather than an exclusionary. I don't strive for perfection, just compatibility and where there exists a difference of opinion it can be taken to our fellow-workers to decide upon which route they will choose.
