There is being skeptical for the right reason, and there is being skeptical for a skewered reason. One is being aware that both sides are using propaganda. The other is falling into the mistake, like many leftists do, that “our side” propaganda is necessarily the falsest.
Maybe Ukrainian forces do fake Russian atrocities, but the circumstances must be plausible for saying so. The fact is, Russian forces are turning residential blocks into shells and blasting cities, and it is ludicrous to suppose that the Ukrainians are doing that themselves, in Mariupol, Kyiv, Kharkiv, etc., as the Russian govt. would suggest.
You can’t blast cities into ruins and then say you’re not targetting civilians. Is it plausible Ukrainian nationalists are staging publicity stunts? Yes, perhaps. Is it plausible the mass shelling of their own towns is done by them? I think not. Peskov says everything is blamed on Russia. It’s equally absurd to say Ukraine is to blame. Soldiering is debasing, whichever army it is.
