KeymasterBBC News has gained access to institutions in Ukraine where widespread abuse and mistreatment of disabled people has been uncovered.
Plenty of military aid but no humanitarian assistance?
Around 100,000 children and young people live in these institutions, which pre-date the war with Russia.
Human rights investigators say Ukraine should not join the European Union until it closes these institutions.

KeymasterIndia’s plan to auction abandoned coal mines to private firms to meet rising energy demand. The government announced the reopening of 20 coal mines and called on private operators to run them, with a bidding process now underway.

Experts have called the plan short-sighted and out of touch with the green and fair transition the country should be aiming for, saying renewable sources would be a cheaper and quicker fix for India’s needs.

KeymasterThe TSSA rail union – whose picket line Mr Tarry joined – said it was “ashamed” of Labour. Tarry himself was more conciliatory towards the organisation that sacked him.
General secretary Manuel Cortes said: “Whatever excuses the Labour Party makes about the reasons for Sam being sacked, the reality is that Sam has shown solidarity with his class and we applaud him for that. The Labour Party needs to wake up and smell the coffee.
“If they think can win the next general election while pushing away seven million trade union members, they are deluded.
“We expect attacks from the Tories, we don’t expect attacks from our own party. As a Labour-affiliated union, our union is ashamed of the actions of the Labour Party leadership and the anti-worker anti-union message it is sending out.
“If Keir Starmer doesn’t understand the basic concept of solidarity on which our movement has been built then he is not worthy of leading our party.”

KeymasterThe Guardian headline was “Unions issue threat of UK general strike”
Read the article and Lynch was actually saying that IF Truss becomes PM and pushes ahead with legislation to limit the right to strike, he would be campaigning for the TUC to call a general strike to oppose it.
Meanwhile, tweedledummer, Starmer, sacks his shadow transport minister for expressing sympathy for the RMT strikers. Sam Tarry conducted broadcast interviews alongside striking RMT workers at Euston station. He was sacked for saying that it was “not acceptable to offer below inflation pay rises” because it would be a real-terms pay cut for workers.

KeymasterFrench President Emmanuel Macron has strongly criticised African leaders’ response to the Ukraine war during a press conference in Yaoundé. Macron hit out at “the hypocrisy, particularly on the African continent”.
He said that the only solution to Cameroon’s Anglophone crisis is decentralisation: “It is through this political process of dialogue and reform that a lasting solution can be found.”https://www.bbc.com/news/live/world-africa-61881391
So the hypocrisy is clearly his in denying Russian-speaking Ukrainians their decentralisation.

“…The global ruling class has forfeited its legitimacy and credibility. It must be replaced. This will require sustained mass civil disobedience, such as those mounted by Extinction Rebellion, to drive the global rulers from power. Once the rulers see us as a real threat they will become vicious, even barbaric, in their efforts to cling to their positions of privilege and power. We may not succeed in halting the death march, but let those who come after us, especially our children, say we tried…”
