KeymasterJust go ahead Vin and make the video you want to see made. There are plenty of discussion forums and blog sites that it can be linked to so it won't go to waste even if it doesn't meet broadcast technical quality or used by the party as its official election broadcast. "Broadcasts should be delivered on digi-beta tapes in widescreen format (16×9 full height anamorphic)." i have no idea what that means

KeymasterSurely the Sparts must win the most boring.

KeymasterAnother article in the similar strand which is reduced to the same palliative demands and economic misconceptions. http://www.countercurrents.org/weiner020114.htm

KeymasterAwwwww…they missed ourselves out…i feel slighted by the omission of the SPGB.But of course we are highly predictable…."the SPGB will continue to campaign solely for socialism and throw their barbed brickbats at all of the above"

Keymaster"Therefore we can expect a period of low profit rates *before* the onset of a crisis…" Just to clarify that the LTFRP cannot predict a crisis for i always assumed a cause of a crisis can only be assigned in retrospect…i.e we can only view the cause of a crisis in a rear view mirror as someone once put it.

Keymaster"I don't know if this is what his "accuser" does actually argue (because he does identify who they are)"http://monthlyreview.org/commentary/critique-heinrichs-crisis-theory-law-tendency-profit-rate-fall-marxs-studies-1870sThe article links to this exchange between Michael Heindrich, Fred Moseley, Guglielmo Carchedi and Michael Roberts, and Shane Mage which i have yet to read which is a bit too technical for a quick peruse. I don't think it was Kliman.

KeymasterIt was Debs who always argued that much of his anger in elections was not directed at the capitalist class, after all they are committed to their own interests, but at his fellow workers who consistently refused to to vote for their own interests. He always pointed out that at the election box, a capitalist vote equals a workers vote and the logic being that the capitalist is out-numbered a hundred-fold. If we simply accept Gramci's hegemony of capitalist cultural dominance theory tacked on to the fact that Marx said that the ideas of the ruling class are the prevailing ideas of all society, there is no hope of socialism.Once more we are all in search of how and why and when will class/socialist consciousness spontaneous arise. Once more we ask ourselves how do we reach the point where the power of knowledge of the person behind the vote is used to get political power. i have no idea despite all the pat explanations that class struggle produces this consciousness for socialism …if it does it should be here now without any need for us in the socialist/syndicalist parties if we accept the premise of it being deterministic and automatic development of class dynamics.

Keymasteri remember watching a tv documentary a long time ago that directed the blame more at Germany for the dissolution of Yugoslavia than the USA.Germany guaranteed Croatia support if it broke from Yugoslavia. Bosnian politicuans , because the balance of power in the federation, would now be in Serbia's hands, pleaded with Croatia to stay part of Yugoslavia but once Croatia went, Bosnia too had to secede which led to the civil war. i think many forget the role of other nations and it is too eay to assign fault just to America. Likewise, the F rench military incursions in Africa are more with their own foreign affairs agenda than buttressing America. But i don't want this to be read as a defence of America, just placing things in perspective !!

Keymaster"Take for example Yugoslavia. Slobodan Milosovic – the democratically elected president – left a legacy of more than 200,000 dead in Bosnia and ethnically cleansed more than 800,000 Albanians from their homes in Kosovo."Or take the example of Blair or Bush who were democratically elected and left a legacy of a million dead and millions more displaced!

KeymasterThis BBC article is worth a read. I particularly like when she is asked if any of the Zapatista's demands have been achieved and she says not one but quickly adds but neither has any of the other Mexicans had their demands fulfilled…much like ourselves and the reformists. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-25550654

KeymasterEven UKIP has its nice side !! Mr Farage, who has led opposition to allowing open immigration from Romania and Bulgaria in the new year, said refugees were "a very different thing".The UK government has no plans to accept Syrian refugees, saying it is better to offer financial help.Continue reading the main story“Start QuoteThere is a responsibility on all of us in the free West to try and help some of those people fleeing Syria, literally in fear of their lives”Nigel FarageMr Farage said: "I think refugees are a very different thing to economic migration and I think this country should honour the 1951 declaration on refugee status that was agreed.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-25539843

Keymaster"There is of course the sure fire way to beat inflation, and that's to spend it" I heartily agree but i suppose some also consider the HO as a mill-stone around our necks since it require regular injections of cash for its up-keep. Could i perhaps suggest an alternative is that some money is placed in a trust for its maintenance – and its return is use to pay the rates and utility bills and a little set aside each year for repairs such as the CH boiler. Not sure of the in ands outs but it is the middle way. The main bulk of our money should be spent on activity and propaganda.
