Wouldn’t diet have also had a role in Neanderthal extinction? Inhabiting the northern hemisphere in the Ice Age they did not have the varied diet of southern hominids.
I have visited several countries flying on aeroplanes and I have not seen any borders, they are just imaginary, illusions created in our minds, I have seen large sections of empty lands, therefore overpopulation is just another illusion
The only border that you can see is that one between Mexico and the USA and it was built a few years ago before it was completely open to welcome all the wages slaves when the USA was the world commodities supplier
Another border is the one built by Israel and the one created in Spain, and the one built between Haiti and the Dominican Republic and they are fairly new too.

All hominids are from Africa. Of course, new species branched off later. I don’t know when Neanderthals did, but they were, I believe, restricted to the icy northern hemisphere.

If, as Pääbo’s research confirmed, we and Neanderthals (and Denisovans) interbred why are they regarded as a separate species and not as a sub-species (one of the definitions of “race” as applied to non-humans).
