Unfortunately TS your another of those bar room rebels. There was plenty of them in left wing circles back in the day. Full of Guinness and rebel songs at closing time, but you never saw them down The Falls Road with an Armalite.

However luck is with you. If you read the article I linked, the Russian state is encouraging volunteers from the Middle East, etc. they don’t seem to be worried about language skills. So show the courage of your convictions and get yourself off to the front line. Or are you, as I suspect, another keyboard warrior who would fill your little pants if you ever came across real trouble.

Either send us a picture of you on the front line or stop pretending to be the hard man.

Lenin didn’t give a fig about his “national liberation” balderdash unless it suited him and the “Communist” Party.
He sent Trotsky to butcher the Ukrainian peasantry and the Makhnovists, even though it was Makhno who had crushed the Whites and had saved Moscow.
Lenin also sent his Red Army thugs to destroy the democratic Menshevik govt in Georgia and the Siberian Makhnovist soviets.

Well said, Alan. Chinese Leninists are full of “national liberation”, unless you are Formosan, Vietnamese, Tibetan, Uighur, etc. That’s why they supported Pol Pot (liberate people from life!) Idi Amin, and, finally Nixon and Thatcher.
I cannot recommend enough the superb book, A TRAGIC LIBERATION, whose author I will give here in a moment.

https://www.worldsocialism.org/spgb/socialist-standard/1990s/1996/no-1104-august-1996/pol-pot-and-his-friends-from-the-west/. Pol Pot and his friends from the West, the butcher of Cambodia

POL POT AND HIS FRIENDS FROM THE WEST

In early June came news that Pol Pot, the butcher of Cambodia and responsible for perhaps two million deaths, was dead. No doubt there are many who are hoping that this is one death that is not exaggerated and who would personally like to thank the mosquito that killed him. It is likely that many books will now appear relating to his “legacy”, as well as hundreds of obituaries that chart his rise and fall.

What we are less likely to see is analysis that uncovers the complicity of western governments in the “genocide” he perpetrated and how Pol Pot was in fact a Frankenstein created by the capitalist and western power politics in particular, because this is exactly how it is.

Following independence from France in 1954, Cambodia came under the increasing influence of Washington which financed much of the French operation in Indochina. The US really began to interfere during the Vietnam War and especially after the right-wing pro-US Lon Nol regime was established in 1966. Not only where all anti-Americans expelled from political office, but over half-a-million Cambodians were unceremoniously conscripted to fight America’s war with the North Vietnamese.

In 1969, President Nixon ordered the US airforce in. In the following four years, B52s and FI-11s dropped almost 280,000 bombs on Cambodia—the equivalent of 25 Hiroshimas. A quarter of this total and five times more than was dropped on Japan during the whole of World War Two was dropped between February and August 1973. Although the targets were supposed to be North Vietnamese supply bases, the vast majority of the imaginary sort, the devastation left 750,000 Cambodians dead, killed 75 percent of livestock, destroyed 40 percent of roads and 30 percent of bridges and almost wiped out the country’s small industrial sector.

Land that had been used for growing the country’s basic diet of rice was punctuated with bomb craters. The rice crops suffered and famine ensued. The regime back in Phnom Penh immediately ordered the confiscation of peasant food stocks to feed the now starving towns and cities, to the dismay and bewilderment of the long-suffering peasantry.

It is often said that Pol Pot’s faction of the Khmer Rouge were Marxists, inspired by Mao. and intent on taking Cambodia to a mythical harmonious pre-industrial past. In truth, the Khmer Rouge under Pol Pot were ultra-nationalists who rose in direct response to government confiscation of their food and the dire effects of America’s war with the North Vietnamese. Neither were their numbers made up of trained “communist guerrillas”. The Khmer Rouge initially consisted of disgruntled peasants and the orphaned of US carpet-bombing who felt they had little to lose

In the USA military draft is called poverty draft due to poverty, and unemployment peoples are forced to become members of the armed forces, and the reservists become members of the armed forces because they need an extra income to support their families. Most poor neighborhood they have many enlisting offices for young peoples, and some universities they have the ROTC program. During the Vietnam war students protested against that program and some were removed from several universities

“Applying similar if not identical reasoning for the self-determination of Russian-speaking Ukrainians under Article 1 of the UN Charter, does Putin apply the same principle to the Uyghur population of the Xinjiang region”

CIA funded Wahabi Islamo-fascists don’t get granted self determination.

It has been mentioned before the pro-Russian neo-nazis.

Task Force Rusich “an openly neo-Nazi group highly likely operating on behalf of the Kremlin, has promoted the commission of war crimes in the conflict.”

But, of course, this information comes via the Guardian and therefore can be dismissed as CIA misinformation because we all know that Russia has no extreme nationalists that can remotely be described as neo-nazi in ideology.

No doubt that it is a deliberate mistranslation by Western media sources but Ramzan Kadyrov, Chechen leader, said on Saturday that Moscow should consider using a low-yield nuclear weapon in Ukraine.

Just when you thought humanity had reached peak stupid, Bojo’s Brains chimes in and proves, alas and alack no, there’s still room for plenty more insipid inanity.

So, Bojo’s Brains, I also support Palestinians in their struggle against fascism. Do I also need to sign up for the PLO? Hold on! I support the Syrian state in its war against Islamo fascists. I’ll have to join that conflict too, no? Then there are the Ethiopians battling Tigrayan fascists. Fight there in between, eh? How can I possibly be all places everywhere all at once?!

Come to think of it, now I’m really hard pressed because I support action against global warming. Obviously I have to become a climate scientist! And I’m worried about the world’s oceans so I must out of necessity become an oceanographer too! Shit! I failed to mention I support conservation efforts re African mega-fauna, I’d better make may way fast to Zimbabwe and get myself a park ranger uniform!

    Lol

Re: Pol Pot, Mao, etc. The Taipings were similar in their lethality. Mixing a semi-Christian fanaticism with their peasant ardour and the cult-like hero-worship we see in Maoist sects, they executed homosexuals and other minorities and deified their leaders.
