When I had the position of N.E. Branch Press Officer, I regularly put out press releases on a variety of topical subjects. This kept the Party name prominently in the spotlight. Also, when the branch was in one of it's most active states, many members wrote letters to the press and signed them off, North East Branch, SPGB, or alternatively, The Socialist Party.I've got 8 books full of Branch letters, going back to 1981. Wish I had the motivation to put them on disc. By the way, there are not only Party letters but letters we replied to and replies to our letters.

It is funny. Many years ago we were not allowed to carry or read  any books written by Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin, Trotsky, or Mao,( We had to carry them inside of a Playboy magazine )  and several peoples were killed, taken to jail and tortured because of that, and now a group of commercial publishers are claiming private ownership over the works of Marx and Engels. It was a capital sin to read, or to talk about Marx and Engels. We were allowed to read the mental poison published by the Catholic church, and  American ambassadors,   the police, the military and the priests had never read  anything about them, and they were against them, or were anti-communists, for most of those  policemen Marx and Engels were just  a couples of baseball playersSeveral government in Latin America under the strict order the US government they  had to place a rubber stamp on the passport of every citizen which used to say: You are not allowed to travel to Russia or any of its satellite including China, Eastern Europe, North Korea and Cuba, and several friends of mine who studied at the University of Patrice Lumumba were taken to jail when they returned after they became medical doctors or engineersMany years ago Progress Publishers, Albanian Publishing House, and China International Publishing House were giving for free the works of Marx and Engels. I had a complete closet full of books ( from the bottom to the top )  that I had to give away to members of different organizations given to me for free by China Books and Periodicals.I am glad that I purchased, read and collected all those books when I was very young because the prices are going up and many peoples are not going to read them
