ParticipantWhat? again! Think I'll be able to talk my way outa it? I'm innocent guv, honest. I really am.

ParticipantTotally agree SP! Think before one leaps has to be the motto. Or more to the point, engage brain before issuing "edicts".
steve colborn
ParticipantTo SP, censorship is the domain of the intellectually incompetent and redundant.

ParticipantWith reference to post 64 by admin, I hope gnome is judged by the same criteria as OGW was. Fair is fair after all! Remember the aocryphal goose please.

Participantpost 59 should have been 58.

ParticipantI have read this entire thread in the last hour or so. I am duty bound to ask, specifically because I do not know what comments are, or are not allowed! The post above (61), where has OGW been flaming? As I have said, I have read through the thread and can find no instances of what you allude to!As far as "off-topic" is concerned, if this is the case then quite a few of the posts have been "off-topic"! Post 59 stands out. Off-topic, flaming, and to my mind, trolling and insulting. Rather than discuss the issue, gnome tells OGW he is free to leave and that it would "give the rest of us 'a break' ". Well gnome, speak for yourself, personally I do not need a break from OGW's posts. Or are they to uncomfortable for some comrades ears? Are there limits, boundaries and restrictions we should not cross? Remember this thread is called Free and open discussion on Sticky! Are there those who can transgress "rules" and not be called to account? vis a vis post 59 as a prime example? No hint as to this post being, off-topic nor inciteful posting. Was post 59 not off-topic, inflaming the situation, uncomradely or injurious to another "comrade and moreover a case of trolling? The saying, whats sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander springs to mind. Is the lenience given to gnome in post 59, not an instance of what OGW has alluded to? I think it is a perfect example!YFS Steve.

ParticipantIs there going to be anyone there asking about the unput in all of this kafuffle of stalins red fascists? The nazis were not the first or only fascist scumbags. Hope comrades attending, would point this out to our state-capitalist brethren.

ParticipantWorkers repeat this farce, time after time, after time, after time. You get the gist!

ParticipantI have done quite a few meetings on behalf of the party regarding Labour's history, or should I say, Labour's anti working class actions and history. What a despicable history it is to. If the Tories had done the same, the same old "left-wing" morons would still be saying, "vote Labour with no illusions", what a bunch of horse manure. If one knew their history, one would never vote Labour again! Capitalism, as far as Labour is concerned is OK! How many Labour leaders, that should give workers pause for thought, (leaders), have said, "Capitalism is safe in our hand's? It's a joke and no mistake. Those who do not learn from history, are condemned to repeat it.

ParticipantSorry a little off topic there, could'nt resist though! I believe Steve was one of the three who put me through my speakers test which, by the way, I passed : )

ParticipantI remember going to conference in 1981 as a callow 19 year old. I got into a conversation with Dick Donnelly and Steve Coleman. Understood them both but after my little interjection Steve turned to Dick and said, "did you understand what he just said. Now Dick Donnellys accent is what I would consider "thick" Scottish but Steve understood Dick but not me! go figure. I thought it was hilarious but I thoroughly enjoyed both of their company. Those were the days. NE branch as was Islington branch were both going strong, wish those days would come back.Whatever happened to Steve and Dick, good comrades and Socialists without a doubt.

ParticipantClearly there is confusion here. I, myself, do not know why I have been moderated on the spopen site! Is it for abusing a member, capitalisation, or questioning a fellow members integrity. From my perspective, only one of these could possibly apply to me, the issue of capitalisation and as I have explained, I was not aware capitalisation was seen as shouting according to internet etiquette.I have also told the person who moderated me that I feel my moderation had something to do with the fall-out from events in October. With a little bit of tact, diplomacy and empathy my moderation on spopen would have been unnecessary. Finally, thank you for the support I have received from various comrades.

Participanttwc, can you tell me what you mean by this? What do you mean by "self-censorship" and in what context?I can infer but would rather have your input!

ParticipantCan you imagine, Socialism and MORALITY, in one package? Can you not imagine the impact? If it were done in, OUR WAY?
