Indeed. An end to the money system, that keeps workers in slavery, every bit as pernicious as classical slavery.Let us to this task. Steve.

I can understand your point of view Ed and empathise with it. However, SP also has a point! It is irrelevant whether the SPGB issues full and unequivocal support for anyone, in fact, they cannot. But as SP states, in order to build a class conscious movement, we must reach out to those that are, or seem to be at odds with the Capitalist system! It's not exactly a case of, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend", but anyone who has grievances with aspects of Capitalism, or Capitalism in it's entirety, is surely more fertile ground for Socialists to put their case to, than those who accept Capitalism, unequivocally. We are not a sect, we Socialists, we are fighters for a better, saner world. Bridges are what we should be building, not "intellectual and exclusive walls".Steve.

You are totally correct Gnome! Many of us, meaning the 95% +  that make up the "working class", cannot afford to wait for 35 years. If we suddenly came into multi-millions of wealth, we could say, "fuck It", what is the chance of that? infinitesimal.Gradualism is the domain of those who have already lost, or had  no hope anyway. The planet will survive, even if the "human race"  became extinct! The idea's of the SPGB, is to preclude this eventuality from coming to fruition. To take action and to put forward idea's that, in actuality, make this an impossibility, in essence, more or less, impossible. For all of my time in The Socialist Party, I have fought against Gradualism. It is domain of the intellectually redundant. We have an answer, a society based on production for use, by and in the interests of, ALL MANKIND, not just for the benefit for the few. That the means exist for the establishment of such a society is, irrefutable. The KEY is, to get our fellow members of the, "working-class", to understand this and, moreover , work to implement this, in a class conscious, knowledgeable way.The Socialist Party case in a nutshell.Steve.

Those who do not learn the lessons of history, are condemned to repeat it. Just about sums up the working-class! Steve. PS. Knowledge is power and strength.

The talk about, "infringement of the freedom of the press", is a total misnomer. If the press, and the likes of Cameron, Clegg, Miliband et al actually think this rubbish, they are guilty of spreading dangerous falsehoods, dangerous that is, to the vast majority of us who make up the working-class. What, in reality, is being discussed with much rubbing of hands and gnashing of teeth, is the rights of a very, very few wealthy individuals who own these mouthpieces of class expression and opinion, who use these "rags", to support an odious and inhumane system of society, which as it's biproduct leaves billions in extreme poverty and want and actually kills 10's of millions of our fellow human beings in various ways, every single year, Capitalism.Newspaper ownership is a very exclusive club indeed. It costs millions if not tens of millions for membership, the members including some of the most bigotted and odious people, with the same kind of views, imaginable. If we are lucky, the nearest we get to freedom of the press, or indeed, of speech, is a letter in the local paper.Like so much else in Capitalism, ones freedom of speech and expression, is directly correlated to ones bank balance. Cannot pay, cannot have. Go figure. So shed no tears for the likes of Murdoch! Steve.

A motherfucking warrior in real life? really! You are not even a passable internet warrior. Been a real life warrior in actuality, not just said I am but done it, bought the T.shirt brother. It is really educational that most of your posts lately, the ones that have been abusive, were done at a time, early morning, when it would appear that they were the scribblings of an, alchohol fuelled depressive. Or at least someone, when they were out getting tanked up and not having young lads or women to take their angst out of.Most sensible people, do not want to be "moderated". There are times however, when one must ask pertinent questions, again and again, especially when ones queries are not being answered in any meaningful way. This is the crux of the matter. In actuality, if we met face to face, we would probably like one another, as you appear as driven as I, to get rid of the shit world we are forced to live in.Let us both, together, agree to put this behind us. Enough of the "barbed" communications from us both. Agree to differ. We are, in reality, fighters after vthe same thing, Socialism. We may, or as I have stated, not be destined to be best buddies, but we can and do, share a "shared objective" of getting rid of Capitalism.Enough of the online fencing, let's get on with trying to achieve our common goal, Socialism. A better world for us both and everyone else in our "class".Enjoy your US trip, speak to you when you return to Nazi blighty, OK? Steve.

I cannot attend this meeting, (wish I could) through ill health and distance but even if I could, I would have to be reassured that it would not be held on the basis of, the continuing idealogical and elitist hegemony, that the SWP have always followed and moreover, espoused. This is the only way, as I am minded to think and consider, that this type of "meeting", will not lead to an, SWP mark 2. Only sheep need leaders and class-conscious members of the working class, need them, "not at all". Yours in Solidarity,Steve.

I have read the above link and wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment of, understanding and supporting women who are, "placed in this invidious situation". What I cannot and will not agree with, is the part of this document that states, "we must believe women", just because the claim is made and with no resolution, or evidence, as to the same.I try to place myself in their place, vulnerable, even more so than male members of the "working class" within Capitalism but cannot, because of my caveat and fairmindedness, agree to give carte-blanche acceptance and agreement to their accusations. Each case must be placed and judged by, it's contextual and evidential criterion. This may seem to "fudge" the issue but is, to my mind, the only right and proper way to proceed! In solidarity to my sisters in the struggle, Steve.

If the document was not amended, as you state you believe it would not be, then I could not, in good conscience, sign or support it. As I do not accept religion, because it relies on faith, not fact, I could not support a document, unamended, that asks for blind belief, rather than being supportive, whilst at the same time seeking the truth. This does not, however, still my revulsion at rape, nor the actions of the SWP. Steve.

Thanks Jonny, for that interesting intervention. What does mofo mean by the way?  By saying "we", I of course meant "Socialists" and I do not have to be in the SPGB to aver this, unless you know otherwise? As someone who first joined the Party in 1981, I don't really think I need permission from you, or anyone else, to include myself under this umbrella. The point however is, that women make up over 50% of the working class. That the SWP bigwigs think so little of women that they act in this way, is a disgrace. That so-called bourgious law, is the only game in town, is a given. You use what you have.As a mate of mine said, give women support and the right for their accusations to be heard but not carte-blanche belief unequivocally, before the "facts" are ascertained. In keeping these issues behind closed doors, the SWP leadership is out of order!I cannot imagine what a woman subjected to rape must be undergoing, to add this kind of farce to the melting pot, just adds insult to injury. With certain reservation, ie outlined above, I would be more than willing to support the original statement.. Steve.

Not forgetting Adam, good Socialists, who are "helped" out of the door, (not booted mind you,) by obfuscation, bias, immoderation and the rest of the crap they are exposed to. It does not stop with the SWP. They are just an easy target because they do it overtly. Delusional paranoia is the province of those in control but who, by that control, claim it exists within those who have the temerity to fight and argue "against" that abuse and their control. Steve.

I will, as a class conscious and moreover, self-aware worker, fight the immoderation, bias and as I see it, duplicitous nature of the SPGB, in the same way I fight against Capitalism. With all the intellectual and logical arguments at my disposal.. Steve.

Pity I am forced, by necessity, to fight and resist, outside of a party, I thought my HOME for 31 years. A sorry day indeed but a necessary one. Steve. PS a really sad day and state of affairs.

All I can say, is answer your last paragraph in the affirmative Alan. When workers, wherever resist, it is to OUR class benefit, when they resist in a class conscious way, it is better still, nay the pinnacle of what we fight for. Steve.
