I am white and it seems apparent to me that there are both particular and average group differences between, on the one hand, myself and other whites, and on the other hand, people of other races: for instance, people of African origin. Are we not all of "African origin"?

ParticipantThanks Admin. It means I don't have to send the boys round. Again. Or ditch my laptop.

ParticipantIf you can't go for the system then go for the smug bastards that run it? Still it's nice to see a Tory get a good well researched kicking.

ParticipantThe comrades concerned in this undertaking deserve our thanks.

ParticipantWill there be a Crisps Production Committee to whom all complaints are to be addressed?Lets face it there will inevitably be packets that don't include the blue bag of salt. And of course others that have two (or even three) of these vital items.
HollyHead
ParticipantNo. The Administrators decision should stand. Reverse it this time and every future decision will result in an endless arguing of the toss. The complaints procedure has been outlined. Those suspended (not banned please note) can use it if they wish.

ParticipantHas it not struck anyone that McD and Circle City Bob (and their like) practiced their own form of "censoring"?They repeated their "objections" ad bloody nauseum. They asked the same questions over and over despite having long and detailed answers. As a result they discouraged the genuine enquirer and caused subscribers to the WSM Forum to leave. In effect our efforts were censored just as effectively as the shouting down of a speaker at a public meeting.

ParticipantIs it possible to split this thread ? It has gone has gone right off topic.

Can forum users please stop discussing each other and instead discuss the matter in hand i.e. socialism. Who knows we might even come up with some new and inspiring ideas.Squabbles between members have already taken up too much time.
I agree.Pity it was followed straight away by three post of the kind you mention.

ParticipantDJP wrote:No, the yahoogroups forum is just another public forum. What I had in mind was something more like this site:http://freedomroad.org/askasocialist/Gotcha thanks.Looks like a good idea — if we had sufficient number of volunteers willing & able to commit themselves to the task. (Think of the sacrifices to be made…less time to spend bickering on our forum for example…)Is Robert in Norway still fielding queries we get over the Internet?

ParticipantDJP wrote:I'm actually wondering now how useful a tool a public forum is for attracting new members.Instead I wonder if a better approach would be an 'ask an expert' type format. Visitors are free to ask questions then members designated into areas of expertise answer them and so build an ever expanding FAQ. There is already software we could incorporate which would enable this functionality. My memory is not what it used to be but…wasn't this the thinking behind the setting up of the WSF Forum (Yahoo)?

Gwynn Thomas was the one who came up with the suggestion that maybe this kind of topic could usefully be employed in a workshop situation at a future summer school or elsewhere.Well yes he would have. I consider him to be well to the fore in the "progressive" wing of the party…<nosetapping emoticon>
