The US press wants to present this election as a great victory and a landslide for Milei and his party, but it is not; There was a very low participation of the voting population, only 65% considered as one of the lowest in the history of Argentina, and Milei only obtained 39.5% and the peronista opposition obtained 29.6%
https://buenosairesherald.com/world/international-relations/trump-congratulates-milei-on-landslide-victory-in-argentinas-midterms. It is not a landslide. A 39% from a participation of 66%, considered as the lowest one in the history of Argentina, is not a landslide, and the Peronistas obtained a second place, and there were several other political parties who also obtained many votes. It is not like in the USA, where only two political parties participated in the election process.
And the victory was produced because of the monetary sway that the government signed with the USA before the election. There were predictions before the swap that there was a tie or that the opposition was going to win

Debt, aid, a bailout? What you need to know about the US$20 billion deal between Buenos Aires and Washington, DC
What is a currency swap?A currency swap is when two countries agree to exchange sums of their currencies. Once the swap is agreed, the country has to “activate” the swap to draw on the funds. When it receives the money, it can use it freely, although it is typically spent on imports from the other country in the deal, or to pay debt.
President Milei has explained the agreement, saying: “We have US$20 billion of credit, and they have credit equal to that number in pesos. It is only activated when needed.”
This means the U.S. Treasury commits to deposit the money in Argentina’s Central Bank, and Argentina does the same with pesos — but they don’t actually make the payments until the swap is activated.
The swap becomes active when one of the countries decides to use the money. Once that happens, it becomes part of the country’s international reserves.
The country activating the swap does not necessarily activate the full amount in one go.
Milei is winning the midterm elections in Argentina
BUENOS AIRES, Oct 26 (Reuters) – Argentine President Javier Milei’s party cruised to victory in midterm legislative elections as voters handed him a mandate to keep pushing through his radical overhaul of the economy despite widespread discontent with his deep austerity measures.
A relief to Milei, whose poll numbers had sagged in recent weeks, the results are also likely to please U.S. President Donald Trump, whose administration had faced criticism after providing Argentina with a hefty financial bailoutIt is another scenario like Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. It can create a revolt in a whole region, and many guerrilla groups and militias can be reactivated. It is a region surrounded by mountains and jungles, and those armed groups know how to survive in that type of environment.
It might become a good weapons market for China and Russia, similar to the war in Central America against the Nicaraguan Contras, the Condor operation and the death squads, and all of them were defeated.
The pretext this time is drug trafficking and the drug cartels ( before it was the fight against communism ), but they have existed for many decades, and the agencies against drug trafficking are also part of the same business, and they share the profits. Hundreds of books with solid evidence have been written about that capitalist business.
Jesús Esquivel’s book La CIA, Camarena and Caro Quintero details with extensive evidence how the CIA helped finance Mexico’s first major drug cartel, the Guadalajara cartel, facilitating its alliance with Colombian narco-traffickers, as Mexican kingpin Caro Quintero trained Contra combatants at his ranch in Veracruz.

When Rumsfeld went to Central America, he asked all governments to disarm themselves, but they were already disarmed; they only had old Soviet armaments, and they did not have any parts or screws to fix them, like Iraq had a cemetery of MiG planes. Like Castro said: The USA want all countries in Latin America to own machetes, mochas and kitchen knives.
All those gangs that exist in Haiti were part of the Tonton Macoute, paramilitary groups organised by the USA during the government of Duvalier, and now they are out of control and involved in drug and weapons trafficking and the assassination of presidents and state ministers.

At the beginning, the Russians were weakened, but now they are stronger.
The old days of kicking ass are gone; the USA does not have the muscle to twist the arm of Russia. They have a powerful professional army, but it has been defeated several times by unprofessional armies and guerrilla fighters.s
Donald Trump promised to obtain peace in 24 hours, and millions of people believed that lie without knowing that capitalist wars are controlled by the capitalist market, and governments can only control the supply of weapons.
It has been proven that he is a lousy negotiator, and he is trying to use a gangster’s tactic for this conflict, but it does not work, like David Niven said in the Pink Panther movie: “You can not bullshit a bullshitter,” and Putin was a colonel of the KGB, and he is a member of the Russian oligarchy class
Donald Trump might be a strong president, but for the Russian oligarchy, he is a paper tiger, a term coined by Mao Zedong

The $170 billion in new funding for immigration enforcement operations that the Republican Party included in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act earlier this year led some to warn that the Trump administration was ramping up spending at anti-immigration agencies not just to fund its attacks on migrants, but to deploy federal forces against anyone it wanted to across US communities.
A so-called Anarcho-capitalist government using the repressive forces of the state. Protesters can be killed, as in the old days of the military dictatorship. A change of government will not make any difference
Buenos Aires, Argentina – Jonathan Navarro, 33, can pinpoint the exact moment his life changed forever. The moment constantly replays in his mind — and it was caught on video.
It was nearly 5:30pm on March 12, and a group of pensioners was staging their weekly protest in front of Argentina’s imposing Congress building, its green-tinged bronze dome looming overhead.
Hundreds of demonstrators had joined the retirees to denounce cuts to government benefits and call for an increase in pensions.
Navarro was one of them. He had travelled from San Martín, on the outskirts of the capital Buenos Aires, to protest on behalf of his father, a retiree who is struggling to afford his medication.

Israeli troops massacred 45 Palestinians in Gaza on Sunday and further restricted aid shipments, in the deadliest day since the announcement of a “peace” agreement 10 days ago.Since the announcement of the “ceasefire” agreement, 97 Palestinians have been killed in 80 separate violations of the terms of the agreement by Israeli forces. In addition, 230 people have been injured in these attacks.
The ongoing Israeli massacres and deliberate restriction of food make it clear that the “peace” agreement was nothing but a cover for the ongoing genocide. Governments in the Middle East and in Europe and all major media publications hailed the agreement as a breakthrough and a major step toward peace. It is no such thing. It merely cements and makes permanent the Israeli occupation of Gaza and gives diplomatic cover for daily massacres and deliberate mass starvation by Israel.
While the “ceasefire” agreement led to the release of all remaining hostages held by Hamas, it made permanent the Israeli occupation of over 50 percent of the enclave. This has created the conditions for Israel to continue to massacre and starve the population of Gaza with impunity, the only change being that this takes place with a fig leaf of “diplomacy.”

As an old activist that I knew used to say: When they move ( working class with class and socialist consciousness), they move. The question is: Are you going to be ready when they move? We have been ready for several decades, waiting for the working class revolt, the ballot or the bullet ( in some places, the ruling class will resist; we will be forced to remove them )

PS. You did not mention the Spanish websites; It looks like they did not count. They are working hard, too; they are not sitting in a rocking chair waiting for the working class revolt. They are fully loaded with articles and pamphlets published by the SPGB and the companion parties in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese
The president of Argentina is now a rock n roll star. Political theory has been thrown in the trash can.
The ex-president of Haiti, known as Sweet Micky, is also a rock star
The national sentiment existed in England and France, but the political theory of nationalism and the nation-state emerged later, as the nation-state is a new concept which emerged along with the development of capitalism. World Wars Warld 1-2 were not a product of nationalism; it was a sentiment used to move the working class to defend the so-called homeland, but both were based on socioeconomic interests
US President Donald Trump confirmed on Wednesday that he has authorized the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to carry out lethal, covert operations in Venezuela aimed at overthrowing the government of President Nicolás Maduro. The World Socialist Web Site denounces these criminal plans for the imperialist takeover of Venezuela.
When reporters questioned him at the White House about a New York Times report citing several US officials about the authorization, Trump did not equivocate in acknowledging the order. The admission is an extraordinary escalation of US imperialist aggression against Venezuela and beyond.
