Bonzo Johnson hiding from the Sue Gray Partygate scandal by posing as a war-leader with a visit to Ukraine to urge a more bellicose response from the Ukrainians and a £88m gift at a time when all other UK foreign aid is being cut to the bone.
Defence minister Ben Wallace visits other Eastern European countries to get them on board for a robust military response.

KeymasterWe should remember that it is key Republican states in the Electoral College that are actively trying to bring back variously gerrymandered ‘Jim Crow’ ballot rules to discourage African-American voting.
Making Washington DC a full state or inviting Puerto Rico to become a state is seen as a Democratic Party ploy to rig the system in its favour, not as welcomed constitutional reform.
The polarisation of US politics has not dissipated through time as I think we all half-expected with the Biden victory. Scratch any debate and the race issue will be revealed.
If you are Black or Hispanic in a conservative state that already limits access to abortions, you are far more likely than a white woman to have one.
I have visited US conservative discussion lists and otherwise reasonable participants genuinely believe in some sort of white race replacement theory and the Supreme Court is about to make affirmative action unconstitutional to reinforce that belief.
Opposing CRT does mean re-writing history class curriculums and the conservatives have groundswell support in many school districts for a censored textbook selection. They are manipulating the decentralised school board democracy.

KeymasterUS coalmining giant Peabody Energy has repeatedly submitted incorrect greenhouse gas emissions reports to the Australian government, prompting questions about the reliability of national climate data based on company assessments. Annica Schoo, the lead environmental investigator at the Australian Conservation Foundation, said there were “more and more examples” of companies submitting emissions data that did not stand up to scrutiny. It follows Dutch scientists examining satellite imagery and finding the amount of methane, a potent greenhouse gas, leaking from some Queensland coalmines was greater than has been reported.
Schoo said the company reports lodged with the regulator were used to help fulfil Australia’s international obligations under several treaties, including the Paris climate agreement, and as part of the government’s annual projections of future emissions.
“The accuracy of this data is critical to getting on top of the climate crisis. The lack of care Peabody has shown is completely unacceptable,” she said.

KeymasterA telecoms firm, a video games developer and a training company have become the latest businesses to join a four-day working week trial as scrutiny increases of work/life balance during the pandemic.
Yo Telecom’s 90 employees will move from a 40-hour working week to a four-day, 32-hour working week with no reduction in pay for six months starting in June. They will be accompanied by game developer Hutch, with 120 employees, and MBL Seminars, with 70 employees.
The trial is being run by academics at the universities of Cambridge and Oxford, plus Boston College in the US and thinktank Autonomy. It is being overseen by 4 Day Week Global, a campaign group.
The UK pilot study appears to have gained momentum in recent weeks, with the 10th business on the verge of signing up, with more than 500 workers. Hundreds more businesses have signed up to information sessions, suggesting they are seriously considering testing the move.

From the outset of the coup, we have warned that an armed struggle against the military was futile.
Only peaceful non-obedience can have an effect but no guarantee of success. Casualties, just as when the armed resistance is taken, is to be expected but has to be endured as a price to pay

Russia’s military buildup near Ukraine has expanded to include supplies of blood along with other medical materials that would allow it to treat casualties, in yet another key indicator of Moscow’s military readiness, three U.S. officials tell Reuters speaking on condition of anonymity.
Ukraine’s deputy defence minister Hanna Malyar denied the information.
“This information is not true. Such ‘news’ is an element of information and psychological war. The purpose of such information is to spread panic and fear in our society,” she said
