Who are the three moderators. Are they on the IC and do they agree with the  Vin's  (SPGB member) permament ban from party forums, lists ?

Stephen Davison, Brian Johnson (myself) and Alan Johnstone are the three moderators and yes we are all on the IC as per terms of reference.  As for Vin's permanent ban I know I'm in favour of it and so it seems are the EC according to the last minutes.

As members of the EC do not attend this forum it will be interesting to find out what they base their decision on. SP and AJ. Are you in favour of a permanent ban from all party forums for Vin?

I can't find reference to this in the EC Minutes.  I would appreciate a reference. Or withdraw your statement

    (6) Internet Committee Report (26th March Item 3.)No further action necessary. Item to be removed from the agenda. This report from the IC contained a reference to Vin's permanent ban.  Therefore I'm presuming with no comment  from the EC they agree with this action.

The issue of Vin's indefinite suspension was set in motion before my joining the IC and is now in the hands of the EC. So what my views are, have no bearing on my role as a moderator.I don't see the relevance of the suspension with Vin being a Party member. There does not exist a separate set of rules, on this forum, for non party members and Party members.

As a member of the IC you have a say – a vote – on who remains or is suspended. I merely ask for the records: Are you in favour of Vin's permament ban from all party forums?Brian has clearly stated his view and it is a matter of record and posterity that he has completely silenced another member. Do you support this as a member of the Internet Committee?

Surely if Vin wishes to be reinstated on the Party discussion lists, he must now appeal to the EC?Does Vin wish to be reinstated?

    15. Queries or appeals relating to particular moderation decisions should be sent directly to the moderators by private message. Do not post such messages to the forum. You must continue to abide by the moderators’ decisions pending the outcome of your appeal.Mod2- When in doubt about the interpretation or application of the rules, moderators consult with other moderators. That is the position at the moment. We are presently discussing events that had taken place prior to the appointment of two of the moderators.  I will also remind the forum of our other rule 6. Do not make repeated postings of the same or similar messages to the same thread….Mod2- You have waited this long and since you have now asked a direct question of us, you will get an answer…in due course.

Yeah, it is at my house…just get a bus to Manchester airport, grab a plane, fly to Bangkok, get a train to Surin, and then hire a tuk-tuk for the final stretch …just take you about 48 hours of constant travelling and about 1000 pounds in fares…Sorry for the facetious reply but you know full well that it is an e-mail exchange we are conducting. And to be fully engaged in it, i think it best you are not privy to the proceedings, it permits the moderators to be fully frank with one another…just as you would not be permitted into a jury room if you were on trial…If you consider that a sinister development, so be it. Mod 2 using personal account since i can't be arsed at this time of the morning with sleep encrusted eyes to change my account

Vin said An email exchange that members could be party to in a democratic organisation as it involves a member being banned for life.Such a decision should not be made by an exchange of emails of a few mwmbers

Discussion is ongoing and decision will be given presently, as i have said.I will be influenced by the arguments of  my co-moderators as much as they will be influenced by mine in our consultations. We have adjourned for the night (although it is morning where i am.)
