    Democracy Ukrainian style:

Zelenskyy suspends parties with Russian links

Ukraine’s president has ordered to suspend the activities of 11 political parties with links to Russia.

The largest of them is the Opposition Platform for Life, which has 44 out of 450 seats in the country’s parliament. The party is led by Viktor Medvedchuk, who has friendly ties with Putin, who is the godfather of Medvedchuk’s daughter.

Also on the list is the Nashi (Ours) party led by Yevheniy Murayev.

“Given a large-scale war unleashed by the Russian Federation and links between it and some political structures, the activities of a number of political parties is suspended for the period of the martial law,” Zelenskyy said, adding that “activities by politicians aimed at discord and collaboration will not succeed.”

Perhaps that buffoon, B Johnson, should be informed of this

“Brexit shows Britons love freedom in same way as Ukrainians, Johnson says”

They are not going to pay attention to us, self determination is part of their Leninist program, they will always take sides with any inter class conflict, there are hundred of organization and indviduals that are taking sides with Ukraine, or with Russia, MHI is not the only one, the government of Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua are openly taking side with Russia

Not when Biden lifts the embargo on Venezuela.

Mind you, when Hoxha was ruler of Albania, Radio Tirana would regularly slag off every other government in the world, but trade with all of them.

You are not telling me anything new, besides knowing the history of Albania, I also read the works of Enver Hoxha, as well, I know the history of most countries of Latin America and the leftist movement

According to Telesur News, Ukraine and Russia are getting close to an agreement, and probably Turkey would be the intermediary

As an ex-performer, Zelenskyy is proving to be a good communicator. He addresses each nation with what they want to hear.

When he talked to the British he evoked the memory of Churchill.

Now when he spoke to the Israelis he appealed to the emotion of the Zionists. He quotes Golda Meir with her words “we want to live, but our neighbours want to see us dead”.

It is not the first time he uses the hyperbole of genocide, just as Putin does. Nor is it the first time that the influence of the Banderites is relegated to irrelevancy due to their poor showings in elections and not the exercise power of their propaganda.

I am not sure it would be a good idea to let Boris know. It might give him the idea of banning all Remain parties on the grounds that they are traitors and collaborators with the EU against British “freedom”.

    Meanwhile more Ukrainian style democracy:

“On Sunday, the Ukrainian leader signed a decree that aims to unite all national TV channels into one platform, citing the importance of a “unified information policy” under martial law.”

I don’t think that Putin has gone so far as banning opposition parties represented in Parliament. Ok, he has prevented some standing for parliament but then at least 4 parties, including the “Communist” Party of Ukraine, had already been banned in Ukraine.

It would be interesting to get the full list of the additional 11 parties that the Zelensky regime has just banned.

    Found the list here:

    https://www.ukrinform.net/amp/rubric-polytics/3434673-nsdc-bans-prorussian-parties-in-ukraine.html

Opposition Platform – For Life, Sharij’s Party, Nashi, Opposition Bloc, Left Opposition, Union of Left Forces, Derzhava, “Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine, Socialist Party of Ukraine, the Socialists, and Volodymyr Saldo’s Bloc.

Lost in the number of posts on this thread was an earlier one where I drew attention to an article that the Ukrainians had a non-violent alternative to armed resistance to the invasion. It is worth a read

The Root Problem is War Not Putin

The sacrifice and slaughter could have been avoided. For sure some may have still been killed, after all, only one side would have been committed to mass peaceful disobedience, but not on the scale that is happening right now.

There are not related to Russia, some of them are political parties that are called communist, or soviets parties

He is only a demagogue, Joaquin Balaguer was a dictator and an anti communists and on his speeches he cited Vladimir Lenin quotations, and he established diplomatic and commercial trade with Cuba and he legalized the Communist Party, and the Communist Party supported his agrarian reforms

it is worth a read [The root problem is war article above]

Debatable. I’d say it’s only worth reading as an example of useless pacifist fantasising. Do you really think it said anything useful?

Only workers would be able to stop and eliminate all wars. Bourgeoise nationalism prevails in the minds of the Ukrainian workers
