Macron making dangerous statements. Says ground troops being sent to Ukraine not to be ruled out.

And with Russians being made to undergo nuclear drills, they are expecting Armageddon.

Not necessarily. Putin was responding to Macron’s suggestion that at some point NATO troops might need to be sent to fight in Ukraine. He was earning that if that ever that happened there would be an open NATO-Russia war that would inevitably turn nuclear.
Macron’s idea was shot down by other NATO states including the US itself, also by Britain, Germany and Italy, all anxious to avoid such a direct confrontation.
So why is Russia making its proles do nuclear war bunker duty? We are not being forced to do that. One normally associates such things of N. and S. Korea, and Japan.
I don’t know. Could be to convince NATO that they are serious about the current proxy NATO-Russia war in Ukraine going nuclear if NATO sent in its own troops. Or it could something to do with the upcoming presidential elections in Russia.

Story in our local paper this morning about a fellow who took his local MP’s ( Truss when she was Foreign Secretary) urging seriously, and despite having no military experience went off to fight for the Ukraine.
What tickled me in an otherwise sad tale was that he missed the military bus and drove to the trenches – in a taxi!

On his way to the front he ‘phoned his mother asking her to investigate Google map to make sure he wasn’t being taken to the Russians.
The sad bit is he came home and, tormented by his experiences, killed himself. Still, if you will listen to what jokers like Liz Truss tell you…The local cemetery here has the grave of a female soldier who killed herself after returning from Afghanistan, or so i’m told.
Pope speaks for people’s lives and advises Zelensky to think of that for a change, rather than dragging out the slaughter and misery.
