We had a good turnout of members and sympathisers from various branches and I estimate we sold about 10 Standards and several pamphlets. We also handed out a good many leaflets and gave away a fair number of Standards (back issues and the current one). Initially, Carla and I tried to set up just in front of the entrance to the venue, but were told we had to go further away, outside the school gates on the pavement in the main road. They would have allowed us to have a stall at the Bookfair at a cost of £50. Worth considering for next year, although arguably we gained more attention (and sales?) by being outside on our own.

Great well done all involved.  Lets get that pitch booked ASAP and before they change their minds. Did we get a contact name?We should consider having some kind of display, to present the Party as best we can. We have the display boards at Head Office and/or my Branch can bring up the more mobile one we use with our street stalls.Maybe it could feature our opposition to war and/or our position on state capitalism, given the fact that it will be 2017 – and the plans of the Publications Committee for next year. And let's do a street stall nearby as well as being inside the book fair.

I sort of detected a more welcoming attitude to our participation in the Bookfair on the Libcom website. Although proud of their anarchist autonomy this precedent  may open up the Sheffield and Bristol and other anarchist book-fairs to us. What is of equal value is the opening up for the opportunity to host public meetings at these book-fairs. Well-done those comrades who volunteered their time and energy.Curious to know what if anything did our members buy at the bookfair…whats the anarchist hot-seller right now?

As we know that those who run the bookfair (as opposed to anarchoid footsoldiers we might meet) will refuse us yet again if we ask (because we're a party that contests elections), if we've got any self-respect we won't ask but do what we've been doing for the past few years, i.e set up a stall outside.

No matter what was said, I can't see us being allowed a stall

Indeed, both saving ourselves 50 quid and, as Chris says, arguably gaining more attention and sales to boot. However, the guy who asked us to move (he didn't give us his name) referred to us as the "nice Socialist Party based in Clapham". He said they would have let us have a stall inside, given that some anarchists are even supporting Corbyn, so how could they object to us being present !

I didn't know Pete Townshend was a member! 'Wont get fooled agaaaaain!' . He was certainly fooled by whoever it was sold him those clothes. He looks as if he smeared his body with glue and ran through a charity shop. Scruffbag.  Anyone will tell you that the only way to get ahead politically these days is to dress like some hedge-fund-owning Nazi. All anarchists are policemen by the way.
