Sigmund Freud was not a Zionist in the political sense, though he maintained a strong secular Jewish identity and expressed a nuanced, sceptical sympathy toward Jewish cultural and educational initiatives.

    Key Aspects of Freud’s Stance

    • Scepticism Toward a Jewish State: In a 1930 letter declining a request to publicly endorse Keren HaYesod (the Palestine Foundation Fund) and support a sovereign Jewish state, Freud stated he doubted Palestine could ever become a viable Jewish state and worried that Christian and Islamic worlds would reject Jewish guardianship over holy places.
    • Opposition to Political Nationalism: He felt that establishing a nation-state in Palestine was bound to provoke deep Arab distrust and criticised what he saw as “baseless fanaticism” or misdirected piety surrounding the Western Wall. He suggested a less historically and politically burdened territory might have been a more practical choice for a homeland.
    • Support for Cultural and Intellectual Life: While he rejected political Zionism and statehood, Freud did feel pride in and support for Jewish cultural achievements, such as the growth of settlements and the establishment of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, serving as a trustee for the institution.
    • Contact with Theodor Herzl: Freud knew of the political Zionist leader Theodor Herzl (whom he lived near in Vienna) and famously sent him a copy of The Interpretation of Dreams in 1902, addressing him with respect as a “poet and fighter for our people’s human rights,” though Freud himself did not join or lead the Zionist movement.

Well, if it’s in the biography that you read that his wife said he was a pervert, then it’s a biography repeating myths.

Let me tell you something, I do not give a damm about Sigmund Freud and his pseudoscience, I only believe and support scientific medicine, especially Neuroanatomy and Neuroscience

I do not believe all psychoanalysis to be pseudoscience, though I will grant you that both Freud and Reich went off the rails after promising beginnings.

For instance, Freud on parapraxis. What is pseudoscientific about that?
Modern medicine is also at fault by treating things in isolation and failing to see both social and psychological connections. Modern medicine is mostly pill-pushing for profit. Allende knew that.

The article you said you liked today was written, remember, by a Reichian therapist.

How can medics treat severe sexual repression? They just fill you with antidepressants.
