This doesn’t sound like a Randy Newman song until Pitney sings: “Nobody needs your love more than I do.”

V of the B were a new wave rock band*, made-up of: two American sisters; two former members of Madness; and another bloke.
*Funnily enough, it was David Bowie who coined the term: new wave rock.
Here’s a great Italian song: Senza una Donna – Zucchero. There was also a semi-English language version of this song released, which featured Paul Young.
‘Senza una donna’ means without a woman; ‘zucchero’ means sugar; and ‘Paul Young’ means Paul not old. If you think the main reason I posted this song was to make that joke, you are correct.
