KeymasterGordon Brown calls for immigration restrictionshttps://www.theguardian.com/politics/2018/jun/05/gordon-brown-calls-for-tougher-controls-on-migrationBrown said the referendum result was a revolt against the political, business and cultural establishment and it was a mistake to dismiss the 52%-48% result as false consciousness. Brown presented a six-point plan for dealing with concerns about migration: no undercutting of wages by migrants; registration of jobs to give local people a chance to apply; registration of migrants on arrival in the UK; possible removal of migrants if they failed to find a job within nine months; a ban on employment agencies advertising jobs abroad that had not been advertised in the UK; and a bigger fund to help mitigate the impact of migration on local communities.

InactiveTHis was tweeted a couple of days ago. Is it true?FYI, in 2008 the beloved "feminist" Harriet Harman blocked a parliamentary move to extend abortion rights to Northern Ireland. Why? The New Labour govt made a sordid deal with the DUP to drop it, in return for support to detain terrorism suspects *without charge* for 42 days.

As David Lammy and Bernie Grant were mentioned. During the Tottenham riots, our local Labour Ward councillor, was talking to a Police Officer on duty at a police corden, on Tottenham High Road, near the burnt out old Coop Building. I approached her and asked; “why are people roiting? After all they have the wonderful Bernie Grant theatre. The Bernie Grant Theater, was the love child of the local Labour Party. The councillor disappeared into the night!

ParticipantDavid Lammy, Labour MP, for Tottenham. Was at a local public meeting, which I was at. The public meeting was about rising crime in the area and street robberies in particular. Grant and the Police were there to listen to local people on how to tackle the issue.During the question and answer session of the meeting. A number of speakers attacked the Police for not doing enough. When the going got tough for the Police. Grant rushed to his feet and told speakers, that the meeting was not about attacking the Police!!
