“Is Trotskyism the new neo-conservatism?”

[ALB]

Peculiar article here on the RT site in which a dyed-in-the-wool Stalinist accuses the Trotskyists of being neo-cons:

https://www.rt.com/op-edge/325736-left-trotskyism-neo-conservatism-syria/

It seems that he is on auto-pilot, supporting everything Russian despite the overthrow of state-capitalism there 25 years ago.

But he has a point. Most Trotskyist groups did take the side of the rebels. Here, for instance, is Workers Power calling in 2013 for "arms without conditions for the freedom fighters":

http://www.workerspower.co.uk/2013/08/dont-attack-syria-model-resolution-for-left-unity-branches/

Since then they have left Left Unity to bore from within the Labour Party instead.

Having said this, the answer to RT's question is probably No.
