Hi Vin,we use a Zoom H2 digital recorder which functions as a mic as well as a recording device – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoom_H2_Handy_RecorderA micro sd memory card is used in this and once the recording is done it usually gets sent to me for editing via – you guessed it – Sony SoundForge If I knew more about it I could probably get better results from SoundForge but for the most part it’s good enough. Where it falls down sometimes is that there’s no dedicated mic to pass around a meeting room for each contributor – the Zoom will pick up the comments ok, but also any other noises ‘along the way’. It might be possible to attach a mic to the Zoom, but I only get to use it once a year and can’t remember …

I have not used the Zoom so I can't really comment. If it produces professional audio then it is very cheap. One solution for 'question time' would be a wireless mic but meetings would need Ant and Dec like characters running around the audience, lol
