ParticipantThanks to those comrades who expressed their caring for my medical trauma!
Regarding China, its party, and its democracy, what do other posters think of this:
From Yan’an to the Fifth Plenum: the CPC’s commitment to self-reform
Is it just ruling class bluff, or does the CCP widely believe this?

ParticipantDon’t forget their adoration in China of Thatcher and Idi Amin.
———————————————————————-
That is only one of the few reactionary governments and leaders that Mao and his gangs supported, including Pin. The situation is obvious, and still many groups continue supporting Mao and the government of China, and until now they are calling China a socialist country, which means that they do not have a clue of what socialism really is
After Salvador Allende was overthrown by the military in combination with the USA, the CIA and Henry Kissinger, who was the creator of the death squad and the Condor operation that killed thousands of people, including members of leftist groups, they kept diplomatic and commercial relationships with Augusto Pinochet; they expelled all the ambassadors that supported Allende; they offered military and logistical aid, and financial and economic aid to Augusto Pinochet.
They just wanted to expand their own market as they are doing now, proving what Luxembourg said that all capitalists countries are imperialists, the commercial relationship with Latin America, was started during the time of Mao and they expanded it more when the gangs of four was removed by a coup conducted by Ping and his gangs of gangsters, the gangs of four ( called the gangs of five by some Maoist groups ) belonged to the old Maoist circles, all of them became powerful during the cultural revolution including the wife of Mao.
Ping had previously been attacked by Mao and after the death of Mao Tse Tung they conducted a coup and all of them were arrested, some went to prison others were executed, all these actions were published on Albania Today during the time of Enver Hoxha, and the magazine was distributed around the whole world by subscriptions, they initiated the so called four modernizations introduced by Enlai and Ping to convert china into a world capitalist power, the capitalist development of China started during the time of Mao and after his death, the four modernization included the military expansion of China, and a long process of deregulation was started.
.They supported the military dictatorship of Pakistan and the genocide committed against Bangladesh to weaken India, which was an ally of the Soviet Union. They provided military and financial aid to Pakistan; Mao himself advised the peasant leaders to support the Pakistan army.
.
In Africa, they supported several reactionary and anti communists groups and governments, including he government of Mobutu; they supported reactionary regimes in Angola, Laos, and the Shah of Iran, and all of them received military and financial aid from China during the time of Mao.They were just competing against the Soviet Union to expand and establish their own spheres of influence.
This group is still one of the dinosaurs left that is defending China and calling China a socialist country; many Maoist groups do not support China anymore. They have recognised that it is just another capitalist country; some ex-pro-Albanian groups who rejected Maoism completely are forming alliances.
This is an ex-Maoist, Stalinist, and still-Leninist group that has written several articles about China; the so-called regulation is a myth; there is a large privatisation process showing that state capitalism is not so efficient. They are using Leninist jargon to explain their analysis. The same process is taking place in Vietnam under their so-called market socialism. In reality, that process started to take place in Yugoslavia under Tito, who was a friend of the Western powers, like Pol Pot
. https://www.communistvoice.org/00China.htmlThe CPC has been in a self-adjusting process since it started under the leadership of Mao; they are like the evangelicals: they have been on a revival mission for many years.
The Maoists themselves are saying that the Congress of the CPC is just a congress of capitalists adjusting themselves to the cyclical crisis of capitalism, and the central committee is conducted by capitalists; there is no difference between the internal capitalist struggles of the US republican party and the Democratic Party

Moderator@LBird,
When Richard III became king he set about decrying abuse of justice and calling for fair courts (see propaganda here: https://richardiii.net/richard-iii-his-world/reputation/a-man-of-the-people-richard-iii-the-pursuit-of-justice/), yet before he was king, he was as capable as any feudal magnet of engaging in lawfare to hoover up manorial estates and revenues.By which, I mean, all authorities have always been against corruption, especially while trying to win support.

ParticipantFrom Yan’an to the Fifth Plenum: the CPC’s commitment to self-reform
This communiqué is a panegyric to the Chinese Communist Party’s minority rule — in perpetuity — over its majority working class.
Its assurances to its working class are indistinguishable from Lenin’s of 1920. Thus, Mao: “Only when the people are allowed to supervise the government will the government not slacken”.
The communiqué claims to have “found two answers to the question of how [the Chinese Communist Party] can escape the historical cycle of rise and fall?”
Its answer is by “the people’s oversight over government, and the Party’s self-reform.”
The Party “tolerates no corruption”, and “has no special interests of its own besides the interests of the working class.”
It reassures us with: “Vietnam’s “blazing furnace” anti-corruption campaign shows that other ruling communist parties are drawing similar conclusions, and many parties in Africa, Asia and Latin America study the CPC’s experience closely.”
So how can it “stay in touch with the masses?”
This is a sticky question when the Chinese Communist Party is the government and forbids its “masses” the use of a democratic franchise.
Yet Mao already solved this problem in 1943, describing his solution — not one of cooperation — but as a “method of leadership”.
“Take the scattered and unsystematic ideas of the masses, concentrate them through study into systematic ideas, then return to the masses to propagate and explain them “until the masses embrace them as their own”, testing them in action. “From the masses, to the masses” means that leadership is a continuous, two-way, dialectical relationship between Party and people.”
And so, in the words of its communiqué, the Party’s objective is to ensure that it “always remains a vibrant Marxist governing party that stays at the forefront of the times, enjoys the wholehearted support of the people, and is able to withstand all tests”.
That should reassure the masses.

Participant@LBird,
When Richard III became king he set about decrying abuse of justice and calling for fair courts … yet before he was king, he was as capable as any feudal magnet of engaging in lawfare to hoover up manorial estates and revenues. The political question is, though, did he set up a justice system that was widely recognised as ‘fair courts’ for the majority of people regarding laws that most people would have been involved in going to court for, in defence of their own judicial interests, like theft and murder? Obviously leaving aside the issue of what the minority of great landowners also used the justice system for, ie. their own class interests.
If a ‘fair court’ system was set up, surely this was a positive progression for the majority on an earlier lawless society?

That’s the political question that I’m asking – does it ‘reassure the masses’?

Moderator@LBird, the point was, twas ever thus, he does get some credit for a stated purpose of fighting corruption in his short lived regime (but when need arose, he didn’t shirk from corruption). Pretty much every authoritarian regime is against corruption, nominally (indeed, without law and regulation, in some ways it is difficult to be corrupt).
