Per usual, Robert Fisk brings some well-needed insight to this dispute between Gulf rivals
I agree, a good article, Alan.I used to read Fisk's opinions on the Middle East before I got fed up with the Independent and stopped reading it.It's sad and depressing to read about this area being used as a continual battleground with no end in sight.
Just to say i got drawn to the Independent as "the voice of reason" during the WMD and the 2003 invasion (as was the Glasgow Herald) but there was a change of ownership and it got bought by a Russian oligarch and it has indeed gone downhill. Still not too bad on climate change though(a personal grumble is that even if an online newspaper, it has the crappiest download speed for me to cut and copy from)
