Dennis Skinner Documentary

Hello folks, 

For the last two-years I've making a documentary about the socialist, trade unionist and Labour politician, Dennis Skinner. We completed principal photography on our film thanks to kind donations from various union branches and members of the public. But now the really hard work begins – raising post-production and archive costs to finish the film and get it released. We have found it difficult to raise funds from the traditional routes, as our film is about an uncompromising political figure. But this also has its advantages, as we have been able to tell our own, unedited, non-mainstream narrative. 

We have launched a Kickstarter campaign, which will run for the next 18 days and aims to raise the £18,000 (we've nearly raised £12,000) needed to complete the film. All the crew on our documentary – director, producers, DOP, editor, sound operator and archivist – have donated their time, equipment and expertise for free over the last two-years. This is a passion project and a story we believe needs telling. The money raised will only be going towards the unavoidable costs of the various post-production services. Nobody will be getting paid or wants to make money from this. We're filmmakers who just believe in our work and want to get our film out there. If anybody could help by donating or spreading the word, it would be a massive help to us.
