ParticipantKeir Hardie: Working Class Hero (2015) BBC
I first caught this after Corbyn's conference speech on BBC Parliament yesterday then I couldn't find it on BBC iPlayer
The BBC have produced a film on Keir Hardie on the centenary anniversary of his death
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b06hlr3m/keir-hardie-working-class-hero
A twenty minute film described as
"To mark the 100th anniversary of Keir Hardie's death, Simon Vaughan looks at the life of the Labour Party's founding father."
Incredible omissions, not a word about the Social Democratic Federation and what Keir Hardie really did about the First World War. Labour History Group seem to have had a big hand in its propagandistic approach.
How about the BBC produce a film for socialism in Britain about one of our founders?

ParticipantJust shared the latter on libcom library herehttp://libcom.org/library/keir-hardie-mythPicture taken from PPUhttp://www.ppu.org.uk/enews/summer2015/Summer2015enews.htmlA search on libcom for Keir Hardie revealed Engels had this to say in 1894
Quote:The Independent Labour Party is extremely indefinite in its tactics, and its leader, Keir Hardie, is a super-cunning Scot, whose demagogic tricks are not to be trusted for a minute. Although he is a poor devil of a Scottish coal miner, he has founded a big weekly, The Labour Leader, which could not have been established without considerable money, and he is getting this money from Tory or Liberal-Unionist, that is, anti-Gladstone and anti-Home Rule sources. There can be no doubt about this, and his notorious literary connections in London as well as direct reports and his political attitude confirm it. Consequently, owing to desertions by Irish and radical voters, he may very easily lose his seat in Parliament at the 1895 general elections and that would be a stroke of good luck — the man is the greatest obstacle at present. He appears in Parliament only on demagogic occasions, in order to cut a figure with phrases about the unemployed — without getting anything done — or to address imbecilities to the Queen on the occasion of the birth of a prince, which is infinitely banal and cheap in this country, and so forth.http://marx.libcom.org/works/1894/letters/94_11_10.htmKeir Hardie's writing on Marx was put together in a pamphlet in 1910 that can be downloaded from herehttps://archive.org/details/karlmarxmanhisme00harduoft
