Funnily enough, we have a very big software launch at work and I spend a lot of my time being barraged with complaints of “it’s not good enough”. So I apologise if I’m a bit touchy.

But I believe this website will be a great base for us to build upon.

There is never a guarantee in the world of internet security. We have DNFs confirmation that all malicious code has been sanitised. But they are not responsible for the security of the software — that’s the responsibility of WordPress and ourselves (the Internet Committee).

And yes, it is a lot of money which may appear to have been spent on “not much”. But that all went to restoring content. We could have spent £10k on a brand new design, which would not have had the content and we would either have to live without or upload ourselves or pay extra for. But with the move to WordPress, we also get “for free” most of the updated UI that was originally promised from the “upgrade project” however many years ago.

I don’t take it personally but I would like for there to be an understanding that the scope of the project did not include redesigning. So yes, it is a bit templated, but it’s up and running. Not without its kinks, which we can and will resolve those, mostly ourselves because they are things that we don’t need to pay DNF £75 an hour for.

And should we want to explore improving styling, we either need to budget for further agency work or find the in-house talent to do it ourselves.

Are you suggesting you’re also unhappy with the outcome Dave?

I would like to stress again, that the primary goal of this project was to sanitise the infected database and restore the website — technical work, not design. Without which, we would have no website. At least not one with all the historical data.

No offence was taken. It's an incremental learning process!

Hi Vin.I set up the Adwords campaign based on my understanding of the required parameters but admit that it is only a basic understanding. I have noted down all the entered values. If you have more experience with Adwords I'd be grateful for your help in tweaking the settings. I have no doubt that they can be optimised.

I agree. It feels like much more should be possible now than actually seems to be occurring.

Shouldn't the Party be providing the tools for this.

I think there needs to be an overall 'Project Socialism', which engages, educates, and provides a practical plan for getting from now to Socialism. There is also a need for organisational agility to be able to respond to the dynamic nature of societal trends.

Thank you.Dave, I did manage to speak with Rob and Mandy at the stall and am keen to meet up more.Robin, you really tested my Afrikaans there, but I managed without Google Translate! But I'll stick to English if you don't mind; I can't say 'ek kan die taal praat' any longer, I'm afraid to say. I was born in Vereeniging but moved to Germiston to start school and lived around that area for nearly 20 years. Small world… Where are you based now?
