KeymasterCan all forum users please take note of Rule 7 "You are free to express your views candidly and forcefully provided you remain civil. Do not use the forums to send abuse, threats, personal insults or attacks, or purposely inflammatory remarks (trolling). Do not respond to such messages."

KeymasterSite wide. Users can only be banned through the account 'Admin'
PJShannon
KeymasterYou won't be able to add new permissions to your account yourself. You could try the different HTML options, but I think the solution is the one mentioned above by ALB.
PJShannon
KeymasterThe 'Full HTML' and other options are only available to users with expanded permissions.ALB's suggestion of adding paragraph tags should work as a workaround. The problem seems to be due to the fact that <br> tags are currently dissallowed in the default profile. I'm guessing that if I allow it at this stage it will cause problems with pages and posts that have already been uploaded.I'll see if I can create a new posting permissions profile for standard users next time I do some work on the site.

KeymasterThis situation in reference has not arisen out of nowhere been going on for some months, taking up many hours time of the moderators, the internet committee and the executive committee. A valid explanation has been given and further details can be found by referring to EC minutes of the last 6 months or by browsing past threads.

KeymasterI refer you to the post above.

If this fails to bring a satisfactory result the Socialist Party of Great Britain's Internet Department should be contacted using the general contact form (put 'attention internet department' in the subject field). KeymasterUnfortunately the Internet Department has unanimously decided that the current period of suspension for the forum user "TheOldGreyWhistle" be extended indefinitely. This decision has not been taken lightly and comes after an extended period during which a persistent unwillingness or inability to abide by the forum rules was demonstrated .

KeymasterIn Drupal 6 CMS you can 'block' or 'ban' a user. Banning not only prevents new log-ins etc from a certain IP but also prevents pages from being viewed. The last bit I was not aware of until a few days ago. Now we all know..
PJShannon
KeymasterIt is possible but was being applied unwittingly. No IP addresses are now blocked from viewing the site.

KeymasterModeration can be discussed in the appropriate place. Otherwise stick to the topic of the conversation as far as is reasonable.
