ParticipantHappy new year Lbird, I think you elevate the level of discussion here even if some users find it a bit repetitive.

ParticipantOn a related note… at the outbreak of war in 1939 when, asked by a branch to reprint the 1914 anti-war manifesto, the Socialist Standard editors refused. The address had said ‘Having no quarrel with the working class of any country’, and that, said the editors, was no longer an acceptable sentiment: the Party did have a quarrel, a big one, with working people.

ParticipantVery interesting stuff. I've added SPGB stuff there which caused a minor flap with at least one user. As long as the stuff is good quality and not just spamming I think it appropriate and a good way to engage with others outside the party and outside party channels. Some of the SPGB content there is original and fairly exclusive as it is not widely published elsewhere on the internet.

ParticipantThere's more to democracy than just minutes. Transcripts, recordings, video conferencing and livestreams are all additional ways of extending democracy especially to those including non-members who cannot attend meetings in person.Minutes can also be more time consuming to create than transcripts.

ParticipantDo the socialist party take sides with any army or militia slaughtering workers so they can run capitalism? No.

ParticipantSocialist Standard July 1986 page 19 (or page numbered 134)advertises a series of five lectures on marxian economics by Hardy at Marchmont Community Centrehttps://www.scribd.com/doc/97135506/Socialist-Standard-1986-982-JulThis matches the list in the videohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upoHgSGdifA&t=0m28sIssues from 1986-7 do not list any audio cassettes for sale so presumably tapes lists were available on request.
