KeymasterEnglish Heritage's anniversaries for 2016:
Battle of Hastings (950 years) – 14 October 1066
Siege of Kenilworth (750 years) – June-December 1266
Birth of Mary Tudor (500 years) – 18 February 1516
Death of William Shakespeare (400 years) – 23 April 1616
Great Fire of London (350 years) – 2 September 1666
Birth of landscape architect Capability Brown (300 years) – summer 1716
The Somme Offensive (100 years) – 1 July 1916
England's World Cup win (50 years) – 30 July 1966
I believe the Dublin 1916 Easter Rising will be remembered by the Standard but what other historic anniversaries do members of the forum suggest should be commemorated by the Party for 2016 by special public meetings or featured in the Standard?

ParticipantWell, we could wait until September 2017 for the 30th anniversary of the Next Generation. I do not recall Kirk talking like this.

KeymasterOf course, we also have Her Majesty, the Queen's 90th birthday in April…perhaps we could do a right royal republican edition of the Standard for the occasion

KeymasterApparently there will be something called The Patron's Lunch will honour the Queen's lifetime dedication to service and mark her patronage of more than 600 charities and organisations….Its title is crying our for some group to do a "Peoples Lunch" in its vicinity and no doub there will be…Perhaps food served up from a food bank…Maybe we could soup kitchen theme, dress up in rags and dish out bowls of soup and chunks of bread. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-35318389
