So it seems Brasil too has been affected by the right-ward trend and the next President will be Bolsonaro. The current ruling left populists are under pressure and losing support.
While in America we have a resurgence of Faux Socialists, a liberal/progressive left-wing movement that fails to understand even the basic concepts of Marxist economics spurred on by “Marxist” professors who offer half-measure reforms which simply cannot be realised politically yet assure us socialism is the unviable proposal as a strategy for the future.
I note we have a topic on patriarchy for the ADM and we have debated identity politics, and it appears that the women’s movement is one of the more active protest campaigns on the ground in America (but effectively hijacked by the Democrat Party into mere anti-Trump) More so than even the environmentalists against the oil pipelines when many claim global warming is the real existential threat to humanity.
Which brings us back to the right populism – America, Australia ignore the warnings from the scientists an now Brasil joins the anti-climate change rhetoric.

The whole Latin America region is moving toward right-wing populism, after the leftwing fever and epidemic spread by Hugo Chavez and the Bolivarians, one government after another have been replaced by votes or by parliamentary coup d’tat instead of using tanks and bayonets. Sometimes I think that human beings are masochists
In the USA even the so-called famous Marxist intellectuals and theoreticians do not understand the real conception of socialism, and most of them are not militants or members of any socialist organizations, they are just books and speech sellers.
There are many areas in Latin America which have been destroyed by the effects of climate change and capitalism degradation, including rivers, oceans, seas, mountains and forests and now in some of those countries peoples are becoming climate change deniers and the reality is in front of their faces.
Brasil is a big country and many jungles and forest have been destroyed by capitalism and climate change, and the inhabitants of the jungles of Brasil are dying due to hunger and ecological destruction, and deforestation

He doesn’t have a clue about economics, history or politic like Trump, and he supports police brutality and violence like Trump, and he supports torturers and dictators. I don’t know what has crossed in the minds of the Brazilians workers and voters. It is like coming back to the old days of the military dictatorship which produced thousands of dead peoples, persecutions and immigration. He will be running the same programs as Pinochet in Chile

All the industrial workers voted against the WP ( PT ) and there was a great absenteeism probably as big as the percentage of the winner, which indicates that millions of workers do not trust in both of them
October 10, 2018 at 9:06 pm #152269BedzyParticipantMany people are being told that it’s ok to hate and use Xenophobia against everything what the right wing MSM tell them . Manipulating these people away from all the real problems and issues in our society , which is this nasty horrid Government .
October 10, 2018 at 9:30 pm #152270AnonymousInactiveThe problem of our present society are not the presidents, the government, or the political parties, the main problem is capitalism, that is the root of the problematic
The ruling capitalist class do not want workers to be focussed on that particular issue, and they try to keep workers divided by a stupid piece of fabric known as the flag, national hymn, and the wrong idea that they own a country, and that the workers from others countries are stealing their jobs, and their social services, and that a bunch of reformists known as socialist are going to destroy everything.
It is a whole package deal spread by the rulers, and this not new, it has existed for many years since capitalism emerged. In the USA the concept of Make America ( which is not a country ) Great Again started in 1844.
The USA has been great for the rulers but not for the workers, it is only an illusion, like the so-called American dream which Malcolm X called the American nightmare for the black peoples.
The daughter of Noam Chomsky has written two books that explain very clearly that foreign workers do not steal anybody else job, it is only a lie, and she wrote another book about the immigration detailing the real history of the USA immigration and debunks many historical lies.
The so-called Legal system is only used by the rulers in order to justify their domination over the peoples, the law is above the society instead of the society being above the law, most peoples believe that their liberation will come thru the legal system, it is just any social fallacy

In Brazil the leftwingers made a big mess and that is the reason why peoples voted for the right-wingers, and then, the right wingers will create another mess, and peoples again will vote for the leftwingers, it is like an endless cycle, Workers must move away from both of them. In reality, left and right is irrelevant.
We were correct since the very beginning when we wrote that Hugo Chavez and the Bolivarian movement was only a leftwing reformists trend which was not going to resolve the most essential issues of Venezuela and Latin America, the excuse of the leftwingers is dropping of the price of the petroleum, but that it is not the only issue, the main issue is state capitalism and its failure, and that capitalism can not be reformed
