This is a very simple, concise and objective explanation of the events that are taking place in the Middle East. Earlier this summer, self-styled Secretary of War Pete Hegseth posted a fitness challenge video that offers an apt representation of the current state of the U.S. military. The video shows Hegseth lifting weights at the infamous Guantánamo Bay prison on occupied Cuban land. The caption claims that he “CRUSHED 44 reps on the bench,” but the video was largely mocked for Hegseth’s poor lifting form and his twitching legs as he clearly struggles to rack the barbell.
Like the video, which boasts of strength while clearly depicting weakness, the Trump administration’s “peace through strength” agenda is revealing to the entire world the growing frailty of U.S. imperialism and, with it, the crisis facing the U.S. military.
