It’s a long read but very interesting. You do get quite a strong sense of the war weariness and cynicism among the ordinary soldiers and also their dislike of the higher-ups with their cavalier disregard of human life (echoes of World War One)
The middle sections, dealing with the phenomenon of drone warfare, are particularly disturbing. It brings home the point of how lethal these things are. Old-fashioned trenches are no protection against them, day or night. You need to burrow into the earth like a mouse to avoid being spotted. Step outside to take a leak behind a tree, and the chances are you will be spotted and despatched

The only explanation is that Europe’s politicians believe their own propaganda: that Putin plans to invade Europe. It is one thing to increase spending to the military, quite another to send troops to prop up the Kiev regime, even at the risk of a world war!
I thought it was a done deal that the Ukraine situation was coming to an end, but Trump is blowing this way one day and that way the next. Currently he seems pro-Zelensky.

Sputnik News.Britain and France are definitely going ahead with sending troops to Ukraine and a 50-state meeting is to be held in Brussels.
NATO structures are fully behind Europe’s policy toward Russia, without the US. This means Trump is allowing all this to happen or that NATO is now functioning without US control. The moment troops enter Ukraine, the UK, France and European NATO members will be in direct war with Russia!
The moment Russian forces attack these troops, including in response to a Ukrainian attack on Russian positions, Article 5 will oblige European and British forces to attack Russia and INVITE the very invasion they’ve been frightening us with, but which would otherwise have never happened.
