Our refusal of the draft.

Just out of interest, should socialist youth also refuse the non-military options of the draft, and incur the fines etc. of non-compliance?

In countries with the draft, like Scandinavia, Germany, etc , many against militarism accept the non-military option(s) so as not to incur fines and later problems when on the wage-slave market.

I think young people should know where we stand on this.

It’s a sobering (and amusing) thought that, should the legislation ending smoking go through, future conscripts cowering in their foxholes from withering enemy fire, wont be allowed to light up – because it would be bad for their health.
Apart from being deaf in one ear and having only two fingers on me left hand (thumb and pinkie), national service did me no harm.
