    Radical and heterodox economics have hung on for many years in isolated departments and across networks of lonely researchers. For years, conferences ended with gloomy plenary sessions on the future of heterodox economics, the attendees edging towards retirement, likely to be replaced by game theorists and experts in behavioral finance.
