I noticed (via Ian Bone’s blog) that a new radical bookshop will soon be opening in Bristol. I’m not sure if we’re already aware of it, but it might be worth contacting them to see if they want to stock The Socialist Standard and other SPGB stuff. Their website is here: http://www.hydrabooks.org/

Might I suggest that someone contacts the HOO with this information as soon as possible.http://www.hydrabooks.org/http://peoplesbookshop.co.uk/I’m of the firm view that we should have a person or committee solely responsible for the dissemination of party literature as we used to have many moons ago.

Thanks. Noted. The two new shops have been added to the list of those sent each month some Standards to sell.

Hydra Books in Bristol run events several times a month and host meetings as well (including those of the IWW and AF). It might be worth seeing if they would host an ‘introduction to the SPGB’-type event. I’ll ask about it when I’m there on 5th January. On that evening there’s a ‘meet the author’ event, where ‘Clive Hendry’ will be discussing homeless hostels and trying to flog copies of his book.
