The principles of the emergency motion on the issue include the goal of working “for the supersession of the capitalist system by a socialist order of society.”

But as we say, it must be a positive sign when unions are again talking about socialism…even if they aren't too sure what it means

That's the same Steve Hedley who once called us "Mensheviks" (see here). I think we know what he means by "socialism". Still, it is interesting and perhaps significant that some trade unions are beginning to use the word "socialism" again. Though with friends like these ….
