I think we all expected a long drawn out appeal process and we can suspect that when it comes to sentencing, I suspect it too will be controversial, after all the judge has already shown a bias towards Chauvin.
But i have been following the police murder of Dalian Atkinson by Monk and his girlfriend, fellow police constable Bettley-Smith, four years ago. That is how slow British justice is
And in Scotland we had the police murder of Sheku Bayoh while he was in custody
This problem of police immunity and racism is world-wide.

No sure the Judge favoured Shauvin? According to the appeal he made a number of mistakes. Which is why Derek Chauvin’s attorney, Eric Nelson, is asking for a retrial. There’s a question mark over a juror, who when ask said no he had not been on a protest against Police, a photo of him in a bar, wearing a MLK top, on the 86th anniversary of his death. There was a peaceful ‘walk’ in DC Washington, in his memory, which is being cited as evidence he committed perjury? That Derek Shauvin didn’t get a fair trial.

Video has just emerged, of the 2019 murder of a Louisiana man Ronald Greene by Louisiana State Police, in Louisiana. The family was told by police he had died in a car accident.
Yet, medics stated the deceased had taser hooks imbedded in his clothes.Ronald Greene can be heard pleading for his life, and that he couldn’t breathe. Officer is heard saying: “You shouldn’t be breathing.”

Well, if peoples do not understand the real character of the state, its nature, and its history, and continue having romantic views about it, they will never understand that all the departments and institutions ( including the military and the police ) of the state exist in order to oppress and dominate the peoples and to defend the interests of the ruling class, we will never free ourselves thru the legal system, this is a society based on legal and illegal crimes. It was explained by Marx and Engels several decades ago, but in this epoch, most peoples are not reading anything. Black peoples are not the only ones killed by the police, and in a society based on class division we do not have any privileges or rights

Derek Chauvin has history.As some have alluded to, the justification for George Floyd’s death….and other Afro American victims of police brutality is for not having returned a school pencil!
There’s one meme. Cops mistaking a packet of sweets for a gun… mistaking a sandwich for a gun….mistaken a gun for a taser…Two things are going to happen: 1) He will be out of jail in a few years 2) He is going to be killed, unless they place him in a high security area
Most peoples believe that 22.5 years is a very short sentence, peoples were expecting life in prison. Some Marihuana drugs dealers have received a sentence of life in prison.

Our problems will never be resolved thru the legal system, it is only an illusion. Divisions, hates, killings, racism, discriminations, class division, and exploitation will continue. In Colombia almost every day a social activist is killed by a government which is backed by the USA government, and the USA press is silent about it
