Just a quick update on this year’s Gala. The NE Branch have booked a double stall in the main marquee and have arranged some accommodation for the Durham weekend. We are hoping that there will be a good turn out of members for the event. We are also intending to attend other “fringe” meetings over the Friday and Saturday of the Gala. The Gala will take place on Saturday 12th July. If you do not know about the Gala it has been described as “the world’s greatest celebration of community, international solidarity, and working class culture. It is a unique and inspiring spectacle. More than 200,000 people pack the streets of Durham to enjoy the sights and sounds of The Big Meeting.”
