ParticipantUS vocalist Tony Vega, born in Salinas California, his parents were from Puerto Rico. He was a congas and timbales player before becoming a singer
Nobody can re-write history, as the actual US government is trying to do. Latin American culture is part of the American culture, half of the US territory belonged to Mexico, the mystical lands of the Aztecs known as Aztlan
This rhythm salsa was created in the “ghettoes” of New York, made popular by the Dominican musician and an Italian-American lawyer founders of Fania Records. As the musician Mario Bauza: American Jazz ( and Latin Jazz ) is American music on top and afro cuban music at the bottom
it is all Cuban afro music brought by the African slaves . It is not the typical music of Puerto Rico which is bomba, another african rhythm, but this rhythm became popular in Puerto Rico, Colombia, Panama, Peru and Venezuela
All african Caribbean music expressed the feeling of the slaves and the hard labor of the plantations, it was changed into romantic songs like Jazz and Boleros, and it is also a mixed of African and tainos with spanish music. Argentinians will deny that Tango is African music, as well Spain will deny the influence of the Arabs and Moors ( North Africans ). This song was composed by a Spanish balladist and transformed into Salsa

ParticipantThe African roots of the Argentenian Tangos ( Shango ) and the Milonga Racism is not only a phenomenon of the USA, Europe, and South Arica, it is also a Latin American phenomenon.
https://www.britannica.com/topic/Shango. Shango is an African deity which is also part of the Cuban religion known as Santeria but in Cuba and Puerto Rico the african roots are not hiden
They have hiden the African roots of the Argentinian music, and black are invisible on the television, radio and public life, but they do exist in the Argentinean soci3ety, they speak Spanish and they have the same accent of the white European population.
They removed the Bongos, Congas and the African hat, and they introduced Europeans musical instruments, the same process took place in Chile
Most famous composers in Latin American music have been peasants and most did not have any musical background, such as Rafael Hernandez, Pedro flores, in Mexico the composer Alvarez Carrillo is not shown because he is mixed with African from cuba and natives, and Tona La Negra is from Haiti and Maria Luisa landin is mixed with African and they were famous singers
